  1. Ah HAH! Found this usefull link with the info from a manufacturer: http://www.lawnsite.com/attachments/fuel-economy-web-version_3-10-pdf.194055 US gallons to litres is 3.78 Ty
  2. From memory, my old Bandit HB20 with a 27hp Kohler burned 4.5litres per hour. Am I about right there? I was talking to a stumpgrinder supplier this week who informed me the 25hp was 10.2litres per hour and the 35hp was 12.5litres per hour. Ty
  3. Not so generous, I'm on 'gardening leave' and apart from leaving the houseto do a few quotes I am officially off work for at least 3 months. Tidy garage and fear I may get fat on my wifes cooking. More than happy to help. Ty
  4. Hello, Does any-one have experience of the more recent models 292 25hp and the 362 35hp? Also, average fuel consumption per hour would be usefull info. I think my 27hp Bandit HB20 ran at 4.5litres per hour. Regards Ty
  5. Chap, Having read all of this, I will go to Angers and get the trees myself if I still have a company vehicle. I could do with a run out. How long can they be kept bare before planting? I can dig a trench to keep them from drying out until transport. Ty
  6. Hello, I have spoken to a colleague, Clive, who makes regular crossings, almost monthly from the Brittany region in a large panel van. Your nurseryman will need to arrange transport to my address from which Clive could pick up the trees. If your French is not up to this then I can also help. Clive Chandler 0033(0)299950751 [email protected] Regards Ty
  7. Ah, I've no bow saw so I'll not be bidding on this job... Ty
  8. Ah the eternal 'Heidelberg' question... Ty
  9. I took down a long dead Monkey Puzzle in the far West of Brittany. The bark and outer wood was just mush. I had to carry a small hand axe up with me to cut steps clear through the mush for my spikes. Took an hour to get up to the crown this way. The throw line was not an option. Most of the 'scales' had dropped off further up but I still suffered a few wounds, vicious eh? Ty
  10. Just for information... Which 3.5t chassis cab offers the best payload? | Parkers Ty
  11. Hey Karl, your avatar, is that one of those new 'compacted' chippers...? Ty
  12. At today's exchange rate of 1.20 E85 would be around 70p per litre. The other advantage is that unlike petrol you can claim back the vat. Ty
  13. Ah! Cheers for that. So E85 would mean a higher litre prr hour consumption and a very different engine. Ty
  14. I understand now. E85 being lower octane so less power. Ty
  15. I saw one at a demo, only a wee put sticks in demo at TW dealer near Rennes but it seemed a fair machine. What on earthwent so wrong as to pull it without making any mods? Ty
  16. PeteB, What about E85 engines? Is there no-one pursuing the development of these? Also, what model GM uses a 26hp diesel? Regards
  17. Hello and thank you for that. You have confirmed that I have reason. Only a matter of tuning at best. Regards Ty
  18. I guess that E85 is out of the question then... https://www.vanguardengines.co.uk/na/en_us/support/faqs/browse/fuel-recommendations.html Ty
  19. More factoids: Unladen without chipper, our Iveco 3.5t consumes 10litres per 100km Loaded with 4m3 of chip and towing a 1350kg chipper 12.5litres per 100km As for clutch working harder, one clutch every 3-4years perhaps is a tiny cost given the amount of work and turnover achieved. Ty
  20. Jase Hutch is supposed to be sending me a whole new chipper shortly... Ty:001_rolleyes:
  21. Hello, I'm having a bit of a 'mare' with many aspects of my business at the moment. One of the 'arguements' currently rattling around is that my business partner thinks my use of Aspen biol chain oil and 2 stroke fuel is an utter waste of time and a quite unnecessary expense. He has now 'proved' this by demonstrating that one of our Stihl R81 hedge cutters runs better on SP98 with Stihl oil than on Aspen and a mechanic has told him that one of the Stihl 150 saws carb has failed due to using Aspen instead of Stihl Motomix of SP98. I have to admit the hedgecutter is running better on SP98 than Aspen but surely this is just a question of tuning, no? As for the carb on the 150... I've no answer but the other 150 is fine on Aspen. Ty
  22. I believe it was down to miraculous powers PRAISE THE LORD! [ame] [/ame] HALLELUJAH! Ty:lol:
  23. Are there any V twins that can run on E85? Ones suitable for a GM130/Wolf 160... This is vat deductable here whilst SP95 and Sp98 are not. Ty
  24. Ours did the same thing. Mysterious oil drop BUT a few drops overnight on the workshop floor as a clue. You can get the motor refurbished for a fraction of the cost of a new one. Don't bin it whatever you do! Ty
  25. I'm trying to get some figures together on this but if any-one already has any facts then please feel free to share. 2 chippers, both with same power, say 35HP but differently fueled engines. I need to look at initial purchase cost. Future re-sale value. Service intervals. Consumption per hour. Cost per litre for each fuel. Tax advantages of each fuel. Storage costs and constraints. Over 1000 hours use, what would be the difference in cost between diesel and petrol? Ty
