  1. Apparently "Rattling Ball Hitch" are playing at Cheddar village hall this Saturday 12th Mendiplogs will be running the tombola...
  2. No updates. I have recently visited a dealer about the 6t Fuso after calling three times and emailing an enquiry. No response so I'll forget those twunts. It is now the annual French shutdown season were businesses don't give a **** including me. Nothing more can be done until September as I myself am going away for a month. Used 7t Iveco are rare and often an 8hr drive away. The current truck has a rendezvous with an auto electrician in September which I hope will solve a few gremlins until a new truck can be sourced. Stuart
  3. I've just looked at our figures with Mrs Accountant. Despite working at a normal rhythm, the number of new leads for the first 6 months of 2024 has dropped by 60% compared to last year. My current lead time reduced to under 10 days as a result (though I'm now shut until September) Percentage of jobs accepted has not changed at around 55% I could still wind my neck in on pricing in order to win more work but that would lower my margin. Here, in certain sectors, mostly building and estate agents, there are many more business failures than normal. I've had a flurry of enquiries before the holiday's but nothing big and juicy, just nibble stuff I can do with my wife. Stuart
  4. This popular yet problematic engine is fitted to many GM, Forst, TW chippers. Yet just what function does the oil pressure sensor have and how does it alert the user to low oil pressure? Is it even wired up to give a warning or stop the engine in the case of a low oil reading? Stuart
  5. Rattling Ball Hitch Great name for a Blue Grass group...
  6. Tyranna-Solis-Rex getting a rare outing to winch over some back leaning Leylandii stems. This year has been quiet for jobs involving tractors and winches...
  7. Apart from Greenmech U.K who once sent an engineer (Mac) out to France to fix my Quadchip.
  8. You know what? I realised today I've been confusing the two makes of trucks names. Isuzu and Fuso, what is there to choose between them? My colleague has a narrow cab Izusu 3.5t with toolbox and a 3m tipping unit, very compact and carries a full box of chip very well if illegal as we all know. No proper central seat though. I could go for the 5.5t version and be legal (most) of the time given the size of chip box. I then viewed the Fuso version at the dealers but in wide cab. I am told the 6t is not available which is weird as it is on their web site. Obviously a 7.5t would mean I would be legal all of the time. 3.5t are stock but 7.5t are a 6 month delay.
  9. So... Is it true the 3.5t being the 6t down rated?
  10. Right, your opinion is important to me. Opinions on a new Canter please as 'The Accountant' and I visited the Isuzu dealer this morning. It's actually behind the Mercedes truck dealer, same business and sells Pronar? chippers too. The place is under renovation so there was a bit of scratching of head until I located the office in a porta cabin. Two in stock, a new electric model with a 3.5t tipping unit and tool box for €80k but you cannot tow with that...duh! and the ubiquitous 3.5t tipper with tool box 3.1m unit. I was informed the 7.5t was much the same with uprated tyres, suspension and brakes plus it's higher. I didn't like the lack of clearance on the 3.5t. Took it for a spin around the large dealership lot (not registered yet) bouncy bouncy and did some manoeuvres which impressed Mrs Accountant with it's tight turning circle. Delay is 6+ months for a 7.5t or cash now and walk away with a 3.5t Waiting on prices.
  11. You are right, as it turns out it is my poor translation.
  12. What was the nightmare issue?
  13. These are lighter still. Amazon.fr WWW.AMAZON.FR
  14. I have these which come with very long rear leg vents. Pantalon anti-coupure Light KOX vert olive WWW.KOX24.FR TOP Pantalon anti-coupure Light 2.0 KOX + rapport qualité/prix + livraison rapide + matériel pro » acheter en ligne dès maintenant Down side is no UK shipping, the Brexit gift...
  15. Perhaps, tell him to carry a pouch around his neck or on his person with some Celox in it? My elderly neighbour fell over in his hallway, whacked his nose. It looked as though a murder had taken place and when he showed me his bruises a day or so later... I feel for you guys on the rat poison.
  16. 13km closest station.
  17. Wow! WTF! I never considered that LPG was that rare! Nothing for 20mins. Might be the very reason the truck is for sale... Stuart
  18. So I find myself at a crossroads. I need a new truck though ideally if it can make one more year, that would be a great help to me. I am also looking at tracked MEWPs in order to reduce my dependency on capricious subby climbers. The truck... I work around a large city that will soon become an ULEZ I also do very few kms, around 10k and often the truck barely reaches operating temperature locally. I understand that gas is cleaner and better for short journeys. I have seen a 7.2t Daily LPG auto box, 4 years old 70k kms Anyone an opinion on LPG engines? Stuart
  19. How on earth are you going to effectively treat such a large tree? Maybe install a stuffed cat or owl?
  20. No. Are the original reversing lights obligatory for the MOT? I wonder if a less expensive option is rear spots activated by a switch in cab...?
  21. I'll look for an auto electrician tomorrow. My regular local garage is not keen to diagnose. Everytime I visit no-one recognises me their staff turnover is so high...
  22. I've not the means to know.
  23. Weird one this. Put it into reverse and the engine cuts out, all power including lights. Unplug reversing sensor, no issue except it won't pass the 'control technique' (MOT) Bought a new sensor, worse, reverse lights on all the time. Change plug, no change. What is likely to be the issue here? Stuart
  24. Yes, I was very perturbed by the clients reaction and when I looked him up on FB his profile convinced me it was better to cut further communication.
