  1. My experience. I imported my chipper from the UK to France in August 2021 transporting it myself. EORI number is my business registration preceded by FR do a VAT free purchase. As the machine is made in the UK there was no import duty payable. Only an importers fee of around €250 If the machine was originally from another country there would have been duty payable. The toughest part was finding a French import agent willing to undertake a small transaction which I failed to do in time. They tie up the goods leaving the U.K with an export agent and pay the vat for you upon their arrival. However the customs were kind and allowed me to pay the 'tva' at the port and release my chipper straight away. I now have an import agent sorted. So much easier pre-Brexit...
  2. If you are self employed then with an EORI number you can buy from an E.U dealer vat free. The vat is then payable upon entry to the U.K before the goods are released. Then, there is the question of import tax itself and perhaps the commission of an import agent should the paperwork put you off.

  4. In France, unemployment benefit is seen as a paid for right. Indeed this is how the tourist hotspots of ski resorts, camp sites and restaurants function. People work "The season" then get laid off and cruise through until the next season on 90% of their previous salary paid as unemployment benefit. Film and stage too have similar rights. For other long term unemployed who claim the 'Revenue Social Allocation' with the housing and family benefits that go with it, the worst that happens is they get forced to attend diverse training courses.
  5. I used to install gates with a colleague for Castorama customers. There was a short lived vogue for gates made from heat treated poplar. Lightly carbonised, slightly burnt odour. Supposed to be very durable.
  6. It was the worrying lean as the boom extended, something we'd never experienced before coupled with rather too much sway.
  7. They never do demo videos with radiata or walnut...
  8. Well this is still an ongoing dispute. In a recent email, the hire company state the boom wear pads are original and show no signs of wear. Anyone know how often these parts require changing? Stuart
  9. Question. Has a tree surgeon ever been sued over a removal that later caused heave?
  10. Yet you still poked your nose into the thread...
  11. If you search "Orange Plant" you will find many negative comments concerning them.

That you as an employee still have some beef with a former customer after nearly 10 years just shows how right these comments are and I know I am not alone in rejoicing in Lemon Plants closure.

    Enjoy your retirement.

  12. And what is your version of events?

You cannot even admit to being one of those involved in scamming me with a Lemon...

  13. Sucks being a former member of 'team Lemon'...?
  14. Single handedly re-branded them as Lemon Plant...
  15. Do you think these issues can be traced to engines installed around 2018 or are there more recent Efi engines out there with owners reporting similar issues?
  16. Running like one of my dreams? The ones where I'm naked from the waist down whilst people point and laugh?
  17. Back in 2020 Jase took out a court order limiting the number of phone calls I could make to the Service department and I'm not allowed within 500m of GM's Alcester HQ until August 2024 After that, I'm only allowed to ask 3 awkward questions per quarter and when visiting the factory am to be accompanied at all times. Bit mean really... Stuart
  18. I've blocked mine a few times, mostly on leylandii with rollers set to a fast speed. Large lumps have wedged themselves in the chute. Slower roller setting sorted that.
  19. I have had one since August 2021, a 165D. A very different machine to the 150P it replaced. 300kg heavier at 1000kg, far more solidly built. The fuel and hydraulic tanks are set low which makes towing more stable reduced bounce and wear on tyres. Horizontal rollers make the vertical rollers of other models seem comically weak. Floating stop bar is flush with the wide infeed tray and 3 knee height buttons with roller over ride which is excellent. The deep infeed tray folds up for transport and has enough room for a backpack blower, my climbing and rigging bag. I bought a wee U lock in GM colours to secure it when we are at McDonald's Folding chute for garage storage is important. In 240hours over two years, no breakdowns. The curtains in the infeed which prevent chip ricochet will need replacing. I've not got a bad thing to say which is unusual for me. The trail of snotty whinging emails to Ashley at GA Groundcare and Jase ended September 2021 which demonstrates GM have indeed 'got it right' with the Evo. Aside from that, I'd like meatier tyres and side lights for security. I'd have liked move to the Evo 205 but my garage isn't tall enough.
  20. I collect my piss in a wheelbarrow because I can't afford to collect model trains.
