  1. Perhaps if people had more room behind their sheds, we could leave more brash. A Gypsy Tree King tried and trusted method.
  2. Yeh, what is up with a sheet or robust paper bag...? Or even a old 12" Bandit...?
  3. That Jo-Beau Gorilla just needs an expanding (widening) infeed chute to become a game changer.
  4. I know over 500kg requires registration and insurance so must conform to official standards as a vehicule but under, no reg and covered by car insurance. Before Brexit, many chippers including GM and Bandit were removed from the original axles and installed on axles that conformed to French norms 'NF' like the UK 'CE' mark.
  5. What do you think a set of unbraked might cost? I have a generic 22t splitter I lend out to clients and tow behind the car. I do worry about the bearings but keep to under 70kph The local engineering shop could sort that out for me.
  6. TBH, my last purchase of 1/4 1.1mm chain is from Rob. It is just that I feel the Panther chains are not quite as smooth from new as the Stihl or Oregon. I tried a new chain on a subbies 150 and two of my colleagues think the same after trying my Echo/Panther chain set up. Shit, it is subtle but I thought I'd ask anyway. Not a game changing difference nor a deal breaker. Stuart
  7. Hello, I'm running two Echo 2511, one has the standard 1.3mm the other 1.1mm Panther chain. I'd like to re-order some chains but either Oregon micro-lite or Stihl micro-picco. Are there any stores that make these chains up off the roll? I need 68 links which is a none standard size. Cheers Stuart
  8. Some-one mention Call of Duty? Video Games Helped Ukrainian Bradley Gunner Win Duel With Russian T-90M Tank WWW.TWZ.COM The gunner and driver of the Bradley seen in a wild battle with a Russian T-90M tank captured in a viral video explain how it went down. t-90+tank+destroyed+by+bradley+tank+Call+of+duty - Recherche Google WWW.GOOGLE.CO.UK
  9. Not sure about the colour... (Walks around it kicking the tracks) I'll need to see if Bear Valley do a T'shirt that co-ordinates first...
  10. Searching the subject and found this 2010 thread. Currently having an online discussion/dispute on a gardening page about this subject. A 74 year old man felt sick after cutting a laurel hedge and his wife believes he was poisoned by the laurel. I caused uproar by suggesting it was nothing more than a combination of old age, sun, heat, fatigue and 2 stroke fumes. I've never personally felt any ill effects from cutting or chipping laurel that itself couldn't be attributed to the effort demanded by the job. Stuart
  11. At 180 hours over 5 years I need to replace the springs again. Has any-one else found this or is it just another thing unique to me? I assume the clutch is generic and is used on a variety of machines. The springs are larger than chainsaw clutch one and 14 euros each so although individually expensive, still really nothing in the greater scheme of things. Stuart
  12. I share that feeling with you though it's a different flavour machine.
  13. On Arbtalk FB, the Gypsy Tree King (Shane Smith) was quite insistent that his subjects don't steal and that he has helped return many a stolen chipper to it's owner which rather conradicts his claim that gypsies don't steal...
  14. The Bluetooth is just for updating the software. They don't use it between units.
  15. I bought 3 units as I was tired of shouting over machinery noise and throwing pine cones at the climber to attract his attention. They only ever worked once as a set. One, the sound kept cutting in and out on it's second outing, so Freeworker support in Germany suggested updating the software. I've downloaded the app, tried updating, now the app is bugging (see images) and won't let me past these messages into the app itself. I removed the app then downloaded it again to no avail. I cannot get more than two to connect at one time. I might just send them all back tbh and stick to throwing pine cones. Anyone had similar experience?
  16. I have seen the work of an arborist who once having cut off the mistletoe, then wrapped and taped the area in tough black plastic in an effort to prevent regeneration. I might give it a wang myself next time though only if I can reach it easily enough. Most of the balls we cut from poplars are a metre across and very disagreable to feed into a chipper.

  18. My understanding is that Australia waged war twice upon the Emu population and lost. Emu War - Wikipedia EN.M.WIKIPEDIA.ORG
  19. I find the best 'grub' is often served up by fishing lake owners like my rare British couple who are used to catering for their clients. I recently returned to eating in restaurants at midday due to the awfully wet weather we've been having. Three course meal for three being less than a McDonalds but twice that of boulangerie sandwiches, dessert and can of fizzy pop. Today, my groundy and I fasted which is a great economy.
  20. Bacon sarnies, rare treat, I only have one regular British couple who serve me these and only when Mrs Lee is not working, then it's fried egg.
  21. Hello, I realise that machines that use a hydraulic pump for the powerhead lose around 25% against a belt driven machine. Machines like the two in the Toro STX range and newer FSI B31 26hp Yet how do those who run these machines find them in terms of productivity? Also what breakdowns and issues have you had with them? I've only ever used the Vermeer SC30TX twice but it was a neglected and abused hire machine with blunt teeth. I'd say it had far less power than expected for such a large machine but was easy to operate. Thanks Stuart
  22. @Luckyeleven Do you recall just what the client served us that day in Normandy?
