  1. A major factor in my fidelity to Greenmech is the level of customer service. I've no doubt social media has it's part to play too in diffusing negative and positive news but if you have ever tried to take back even a simple household item to a French store over a fault then you'd appreciate that GM are quite "remarquable' in their approach to after sale service. Stuart
  2. How many years on that Premier chipper? Stuart
  3. I think... thinking is so important.
  4. It is a waste of my valuable time and I don't want to be a part of this kind of 'menage trois'. Stuart
  5. Couples arguing in front of you about what they want.
  6. In the Top Trumps of chipper disasters, this card IS the trump card. Just a thought, did you try chipping a 88mm panzer tank shell? David Cropper almost did with his stumpgrinder which is why HE now wears bi-focals and discreet incontinence protection. Also, have your tried blaming immigrants? Scotspine and Vespasian could advise you there. Are you sure you're not just exagerating the problem? Try turning it on and off a few times. At some point a Bandit owner will look in at this thread and shake his head and laugh. A Timber Wolf owner might raise his head above the parapit to try and have a smirk but just scare him off with stories of broken stub axles and flying alloy flywheel fins... Best of luck with it all. Stuart
  7. I'm on a smartphone, barely make out the keyboard these days. My next U.K visit will be a Specsavers holiday special. Stuart
  8. When I saw the image of the flywheel I knew it was a Quadchip. I had alot of things go wrong with ours including a broken anvil during the 1st hour on the clock but nothing remotely approaching this for sheer drama. Stuart
  9. What metal item went through the chipper to destroy it so? Once we had some re-bar picked up in a bundle of dead laurel go through the Quadchip. I still hear that in the dark watches of the night... Stuart
  10. Is the engine and EFI or carb? Stuart
  11. Right lads, I had a truck mechanic have a look see and it is only the carrier bearing. So I've followed that link kindly posted by tree fancier and ordered a bearing from Czech Republic for a fraction of the cost of the French main dealer. I just hope it is the right part after all... Thanks for your help so far Stuart
  12. In the cases of the last two kickback deaths, I don't think aerial rescue would have helped. I'll climb small to medium trees without a rescue climber but on larger jobs sometimes we are all climbers with kit at the ready. Stuart
  13. I dearly loved our Quadchip despite it's many issue. Turntable is a great feature. I've rented the 130 and 150 many times and rate them both highly. Quadchip has all it's gubbins in a very compact space whilst the others are linear in construction so more accessable for maintenance. Oil changes on Quadchips require a large plastic sheet for spills and a hose with a funnel or plastic bottle taped to the end as the slewring gets in the way. Stuart
  14. Are you quite sure the capacity is 4m3? Stuart
  15. Cheers, email sent to Firow. If they send me a re-con shaft, how does the alignment issue work out? I'll also visit Iveco in Rennes myself Monday and look for prop shaft company here. Stuart
  16. Darren, the UJs, these require a specialist to install no doubt? Regards
  17. Excuse me if this should be elsewhere. I need to change the prop shaft support bearing on a 2007 Iveco tipper with 150k miles on the clock. My question is, anything else I should be checking over at the same time in relation to this job? Thank you in advance Stuart
  18. Perhaps and this is a wild stab in the dark, that a retired Royal Navy weapons engineer mechanic might be the right kind of fellow. Guidance systems for torpedos and missiles can't be too dissimilar. Remote control aircraft enthusiasts too. I bet there is a shed in Basildon where a bald man with glasses and a stutter holds the key (screwdriver) to these problems... Stuart
  19. Oh, my GM200 is going up for auction Wednesday in Rennes. It's a 2017 with 136 hours. I'll be there to see what it goes for. Might even bid on it myself! Stuart
  20. You probably already know this but post Oct 2012 they should all be type approved and have a CofC which makes registration possible. I guess you are considering a pre-Oct 2012 model? Regards Stuart
  21. Next large grinder is going to be non-remote. For utter peace of mind I've ordered a wee FSI B20. No mysteries to be hidden there I hope... Stuart
  22. Much the same issue with a Carlton 4012 bought used from Lemon Plant. No-one, not Lemon Plant nor Carlton in USA was able to sort it. Replaced every damn toggle switch. Disconnected the red stop button. Had electrical engineers testing circuits. Removed mobile phones from working area. Prayed, swore, danced naked in anger and frustration before clients. Cried. Got quoted £4k by Lemon Plant to changed the entire remote system. Like I'd let those clowns near it after they not only moved a problamatical machine on but utterly failed to take it back even to look at it. Stuart
  23. I contacted Jo Beau via their web site. They told me to go via their French distributor. http://vert-import.fr/produit/broyeur-de-branches-automoteur-jo-beau-m500/ Stuart
  24. Just an idea, you could use it as a loss leader. Clients buying 'x' stere of wood get one free. That free being your pop. Or sell it as Tesco 'value' level firewood. Stuart
