  1. Hmmm cup holder! AND mud flaps as standard... Thing is, having a turntable means less twisting of the back. I couldn't use a standard machine, it would be such a comedown and a ball ache after the convenience of a turntable. Ty
  2. What's out there? It is plain to us now that we have outgrown the Quadchip 6" I'd like to replace it with an 8" Quadchip but G.M are slow to satisfy my fantasies...hur hur hur. Looking at a new truck too, 5.5-7.5t Things are looking up! Ty
  3. What are the chips used for? Compost? Here there is a big move towards large chips of a certain grade for fuelling the new power station South of Rennes. This burns 'plaquettes' a large grade of wood chip and they prefer conifer too. Normal chip produced by the likes of us is too small for now. They may change their tune when if they get hungrier... Ty
  4. Kiln dried hardwood on pallets 1.5m3 each has touched 154euros here. Ty
  5. Ah, I thought you'd be saying try a 33hp turbo diesel for extra effect... Ty
  6. Yup, I'll be back to confirm the price. Invoice at the office. Ty
  7. I'll dig out our bill from ALM the French dealership and scan it onto here. Ty
  8. By the way, Razor teeth are half the price here in France. The U.K dealer is robbing those who use them. Ty
  9. A client has received an official warning for spraying water lilies on her lake with Roundup. The same offence, she sprayed the banks of the lake too. Filmed doing it and denounced for it. Silly woman! In the same water catchment zone large fields are sprayed off, effluent from farms washed into streams feeding the lake and old tractors leaking hydraulic oils and diesel run up and down the lanes. On what scale are pollution causes measured...? Ty
  10. Normal practice here in France. I should start a gallery of Gallic tree vandalism... Ty
  11. Could I not burn it in situ and thus avoid damaging the tarmac drive...? Ty
  12. Drippage...? Like seepage? From the butt ends? I have friends who suffer seepage from their butt ends... Some of them are on Arbtalk...Eh Pie eater Pete? Ty
  13. Sold as 'dwarf conifers' at the local garden centre 5 years ago:lol: Ty
  14. Hello, Found by an employee in a picea plantation we where working in BUT he lost the actual site so I can't tell if it was found causing white or brown rot so I'm a bit lost. I had thought laetiporus but I'm here to learn! Ty
  15. But 'could' you prune it at all...? I have seen them done in car parks here, sap dripping down the stems like candle wax... Clients getting other quotes which is all good. Maybe some-one will say the same or even prune it and ruin it proving me right ha ha! I can take it or leave it as we have enough work to refuse the awkward jobs. Ty
  16. Why...? Fell, grind and replant! I am often surprised by the ugliness people are prepared to live with... Ty
  17. Would you reduce this or remove it and plant something better further away from the line and wall? Client is attached to the tree. Me, I'd fell, grind and replant with an Albizia or a Himalayan birch instead. Ty
  18. 'Ribbed' for her pleasure...: Ty
  19. We called ours Mr Chips. Owned it for 2 years then bought a Quadchip as the business grew. I sold it for £600 less than I paid which was £1.75 per hour or thereabouts. It earned shed loads of wedge for us and we took on some monster jobs with it too. Ty
  20. Ever seen that film where a man gets sucked into a huge machine full of cog wheels and yet does live to laugh another day...? Here if you have the 'conjons' to watch. Ty:001_rolleyes:
  21. Tesco value logs...? Do you think they will interested in my chips, that's a product what is moving! Ty:001_tt2:
  22. If I stood on it to cut branches at 63kg I'd break our Quadchip, guess that's a safety feature then... Ty
  23. Please remove if double posted. This got sent to my wife. I've just spent 20min on the phone explaining to her that our chipper is not in the same league and that our working practices are less 'gun ho' than those 'Stateside' Arizona tree surgeon decapitated falling into wood chipper as sons watched in horror | Daily Mail Online Ty
  24. Think my Bandit HB20 would fly through that the stump. I'll do it for £150 cash. Ty
  25. 135euros plus vat here. Hévéa - Vente de matériels pour les arboristes grimpeurs Ty
