  1. have you got a transport system sorted yet? BTW I have a load of v straight pop in dalkeith if you are interested, I know you had a clint for that stuff...
  2. Had my first day on site today, the timber isn't great, but I need shot of it so it will go CHEAP. There will be about 60% poplar, nice straight sticks, ideal for kindling, ther will be about 35% decent hardwoods, and about 5% conifer. I will sell it for £20 a ton if I have to so make me an offer.
  3. Should be ready by the end of the week, mixed hardwoods, oak, syc, pop, all sorts. Will go to the highest bidder, so grab a bargain....
  4. Hardwood. Call me next week for details. Tom 07801538717.
  5. Nice Rab, I bet that's what a normal day looks like for Gav.
  6. Never took you for a Daily Mail man Tim.
  7. Thinking of getting one for my 95Hp valtra, crane fed, any recommendations, pro's cons. I want something close coupled like that farmi, but not sure if they are any good.
  8. OK. For those of you who don't have access to google Callander is here: https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?client=safari&q=callander&oe=UTF-8&ie=UTF-8&ei=nrpJUt2xDKi70QXW5oGwBg&ved=0CAoQ_AUoAg
  9. I always loved the sound of the metro 6r4 rally car, the engine was based on a rover v8 with 2 cylinders chopped off, 410 bhp from a normally aspirated 3.0 litre in 1985, in the flesh these things sound awesome.. You get a sense of it in this video, and also the genius of Colin McRae. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JisYzYC57U4&list=PL061EB49624BB0007
  10. Based in Callendar, would suit someone from the central belt, or anyone who would like to work in a beautiful part of the world in "big tree country". We are looking for someone with a minimum of NPTC 30,31,and 38 (aerial rescue), experience not essential but is preferred. We do need someone who is willing to learn and learn fast, if you can't see yourself working confidently in big trees within a few months then this is not the position for you. You can expect a great team with a good atmosphere and a good company with good equipment who looks after our employees. We expect you to be polite and punctual, and willing to push yourself to improve your climbing. We are looking for an immediate start. Thanks Tom 07801 538 717
  11. Very sorry to hear that. RIP
  12. You want that monkey puzzle behind it, apparently it can be turned quite thin without splitting...
  13. No issues, in order for heave to happen you HAVE to be on shrinkable clay subsoil, the north east is a low risk area. http://www.subsidenceforum.org.uk/pdf_word/clay-research-no-69.pdf
  14. Congratualtions! You don't know whats hit you.
  15. You each have to post a slice to Rab and Stevie, they are the arbiters of all things cake related. They both look good, but not as good as mine!
  16. BTW I should have said, once its done take it out of the tin and let it cool on a wire rack so it doesn't sweat. Cinnamon is always good with apple, let us know what its like I might try it.
  17. I saw that once years ago, I think maybe a swarm earlier in the summer settled there for some stupid reason.....
  18. You make a nice vid Tim. Good work as usual.
  19. Too right! I have had quite a lot of supermarket work, its all through facilities management companies and rates are low, in fact I have recently lost one of these FM jobs to a ridiculously cheap guy who still lives with his folks and works for pocket money, its dog eat dog. Do you have any qualms about charging so much for a basic team?
  20. Thats awesome! I do loads of commercial work and the rates up here are lower than domestic, fortunately there's plenty of it. What type of clients are paying that kind of wedge?
