  1. Why borrow on a loan for 7.5 when you can get an overdraft for way less. Plus some of the time you will be in the black and paying no interest.
  2. All banks are like this, they lure you in with freebies and then stiff you once they have got you in. The big corporations, retailers etc change banks regularly to keep them on their toes. I have been with RBS for years, they are pretty crap but I just can't face the hassle of changing, I have 4 accounts and a business mortgage with them. My overdraft rate is 4% though, 8% is a pi55 take when base rate is as low as it is.
  3. Bargain, I have always liked Deutz.
  4. Could be a local authority letting employees take excess stuff away at knock down rates, it happens...
  5. I reckon the posture meters are a waste of time, I have one and don't trust it. best way is weigh the logs, dry them in an oven, then weigh again, fool proof and 100% accurate...
  6. Great Video Adam, just got round to watching it, worth taking the time on the editing looks really smart. I always just bash mine out and it shows.
  7. TBH I would ask them to take it back and get a re-fund or go to trading standards. There's nothing wrong with burning softwood, but selling it as hardwood is breaching trading standards.
  8. You should probably take it up with them and remove their name from the above post or it will be removed, there is no naming and shaming on here. Edit: We supply decent logs.
  9. See if the 3g / 4g signal is ok in your area simply add a payment page to your website, then the customer can pay with either their own or with your smartphone simply by logging onto your site. Probably cheaper than a machine.
  10. Stump grinder? Why rip em out? you then have to dispose of them, 25 2' stumps will fill 2 20 yard skips at £200 each then theres the digger to pay for, any digger capable of ripping them out will be big enough to make a serious mess of a golf course, then ther's all the holes to back fill. A grinder on the other hand is made for the job.... The one that I sub in would do the one in your avatar in under 5 minutes, and will make way less mess than a digger.
  11. I know of one which, even without pruning will randomly put out normal leaves on a branch, only to return to cut leaves the following year, branches all over the tree do this seemingly at random, usually only one or two on the tree at any one time though.

    Socks!

Best tip I have is to wear 2 pairs, a nice thin pair of cotton socks and then good quality mohair or wool on top, that way you don't have to change the expensive warm ones every day meaning you need fewer pairs..
  13. I'd echo that Dean, I have seen some shocking workmanship from LR main dealers, really shocking!
  14. if the bottom motor oil seals are gone it blows off into the watertight roller compartment so you may not notice until the oil level is low. Another observation that I have is that the linkage on the control bar is so sensitive that even a tiny bit of play is enough to cause the valve to sit slightly off, on mine this is caused by the a bit of slop on the adjuster...
  15. I agree Dave I think its a lifestyle thing, it was for me to start with, it was only when starting a family that I got serious about making money.

    Pro!

Shouldn't laugh at others misfortune, but I did, how blunt was that saw? PSMSL
  17. St Petersburg looks beautiful! Great shots!
  18. Done that a couple of times, but not with the customers car:sneaky2:
  19. I saw a great one the other day, mounted on a digger, it was about a 5 tonner but I'm sure it would have gone on a smaller one, works like a pecker vibrating the post in instead of a heavy slow weight. Really impressive, and very fast, so easy to get it lined up exactly where you want when its on the end of a digger arm. It was a bit like this one: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUVWJ64Y8fg]vibrating post driver - YouTube[/ame]
  20. They look great, definitely going to build a big one.
  21. Nice work, did you ring up the timber once it was down?
  22. That was me... I wasn't tied in twice, it makes it easy to get round the stem, the stem was too thick for the 28" bar to get in a oner and as I was bore and releasing I had to cut both sides, so it was better for work positioning. Also its not a good idea strapping yourself to 3 tons of rotten timber anyway, if you doubt me why not strop in to your next 10 ground fells, just to see how it feels.
