  1. Me too, it burns out the diode on the alternator I think.
  2. Does it? log priced have been pretty stable for years. cord prices on the other hand....
  3. The timber wolf setup is indeed crap, assuming its the same as the entec I used to have. I reckon the heat from the weld is what frees them up, did you try the bottles before welding em up Dean? The greenmech setup is so much better, a nice big bolt with a big nyloc on the back, the hex head is only for unscrewing once you have cracked the nyloc with a breaker bar.
  4. Without reading the rest of the thread I can tell from the pics that that wood is too wet, the way the bark is still attached is a give away. Get a nice dry softwood log.
  5. Dead trees are usually more stable than you think, it will slowly fall to bits, rather than blow over. This one was about 90 foot tall, Andrew was tied to a neighbouring tree. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
  6. I have just taken another guy on, however, I can always do with another contact for any part time work that I might have Tell him to send me his details, email off the website in my signature. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
  7. Thank you, I have been and made my purchase, please don't forget the vat receipt. A good show and nice not to have to travel all day to get to it. I was very disappointed at the lack of a beer tent though, maybe next year. :-) Andrew on the axe throwing. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
  8. I believe that the phytopthora can only re produce in viburnums and rhoddies etc, in trees it can still infect but is unable to sporulate and is therefore the risk of infection from timber is minimal. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
  9. I think the tractor, loader and winch are just over 2 ton so add a ton for the trailer and I'm well within my limits. I normally tow it on a 16 foot beaver tail. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
  10. A couple more of mine, a steep exit from a site, (steeper than it looks) and a very tight fit on my new trailer. It tows very nicely though. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
  11. Now paying about 5k per year in employers national insurance, which is just a tax on jobs. I pay a few grand in corporation tax and hopefully no personal tax at all, apart from a wee bit of NI. Also a net payer of vat of course. If you factor in what my employees pay in tax ( which I collect for the government free of charge) and fuel duty, then I reckon my little firm pays Mr Osbourne 35k each year. 12. I haven't signed up because I am finding it hard to make small deliveries pay. I am thinking of selling wholesale actually just to get rid of the stuff. I think the directory is an excellent idea however and as uptake improves so will rankings. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
  13. This is really bad, unless you paid by credit card or paypal you have little chance of seeing your cash again. Having said that the banks can claw bank transfers back in the event of a fraud, assuming that the police are involved, I would contact your bank immediately and give them the crime number and the name of the officer dealing with the case. There is a slim chance that the crooks have been sloppy and left some money in the account. Good luck. And ring your bank NOW and tell them you have been a victim of fraud. 14. I know of someone who had a 90 which had gearbox problems, turned out it had a 110 diff!! My psi box is as good now as it was when I got it I have done at least25K miles on it. How could it "go off" it has no moving parts, just a pcb. If you run a powerbox in germany you can still claim on your waranty as it is approved by the TUV.
  15. Do you work for the council mate, they have one like that?
  16. Having re-built a defender fron the chassis up IME this would be madness. Just buy a LHD one.
  17. I have had a psi powerbox on mine, it has been great. The extra power and tourque is very noticable and you can remove the whols system yourself in five minutes. I'd recommend it highly... PSI motorsport : Diesel Tuning : PowerBox
  18. I'll pop allong at some point...
  19. My great uncle used to make a living blowing stumps out (and other explosive stuff), this was back in the day when anyone could have a go at such things.

    Cone Signs

The ones I have seen on the net are solid signs, are yours roll up types stevie?
  21. A decent stumpgrinder will bust that out in no time. Mattock????? You masochist!!
  22. A couple of years ago I was seriously consedering buying a processor and buying in wood to do maybe 500 ton per year. I am soooo glad I didn't, the price of the raw material seems to have gone throught the roof yet the price of the finished product remains the same.

    Cone Signs

What signs don't though... I suppose it will depend on the quality / weight of the cones.
  24. There are often threads on here asking "which harness", I think that if your survey takes into account the height and weight then that will be a very good thing. a good saddle for a 190lb guy will probably not suit a 140lb guy. Ideally once completed climbers could put in their height and weight and see what harnesses others of their build rated highly.
