  1. I'm going, for the first time and hoping to get camping there as we arrive , that's called living life on the edge!!!
  2. Spotted this fairly close to the base of a Horse chestnut this week (HC is in the background on the second shot....ivy covered!), wooded environment lots of other trees and decaying matter around. Ideas?, my fungal ID is OK but I'm never 100% with my thoughts. Much appreciated.
  3. We run an Iveco, I've had it for about 6 months, few little issues but its a fantastic truck, powerful and very comfortable to drive. Like everyone here says, we have the 3L version and it pulls like a locomotive.
  4. I had Halfords pro range and they lasted less than one week!! Got my money back and got a Teng set - that was 7 years ago and they are as new (plus a bit of grease!!!) I'd always go with Teng from now on.
  5. Just wondering who you use, do you have to have a business policy or as a sole trader can you have a non-commercial type?
  6. I've spent the last few weeks looking at the chips coming out of the spout, so I know exactly what you mean
  7. HAs any one on here ever altered the discharge chute on their chipper, I'm thinking of making a little change on our one. Were your results worth the hassle or did you realise that the original design is the best?? Photos would be good.
  8. There was stuff in the old LDV that I never knew we even owned!!!
  9. Mate, I'm expecting a right shafting, but what can you do?
  10. I was wondering about the HGV gearing as well
  11. Hello all, you may remember back in easter I posted this photo, it kinda forced my hand, so I got a new truck, always like the look and reputation of the Iveco daily and was lucky enough to find a 3 litre one near me with low miles and little heavy usage. I snapped it up, had the old tipper bed taken off and a new one bespoke built, it's now sign written and working in anger. I have to say it really is a fantastic truck, can't even feel our old Kwikchip 222 on the back and only used 1st gear once, luckily it's limited to 70, as it feels that it will just keep on going. It's even got a working radio!!! Just got to get the beacons fitted and we will be well away All in all pretty happy...."silver lining" and all that stuff!!
  12. I've always found that both Monterey Pine and cypress burn pretty well
  13. Surely, "Never walk back to the truck empty handed" has to be in there somewhere?
  14. I think the grip they offer on the road seems to me to suggest that they are a softer compound, this I feel is a plus, although I know they will need replacing sooner, I think in the US Toyo offer a 80k warranty if they are rotated routinely.
  15. I've got Toyo Open Country AT on my Hilux. I find them very good, the majority of my driving is on tarmac as I'm sure most of our's is. They grip well in both dry and wet conditions...infact really well. On the 20% of time that I'm off road they seem to do well also, bit slippery in heavy amounts of mud but I guess that's to be expected. Used to have the General Grabber at2, and I think these Toyos are better.
  16. yeah spotted a load in Whitstable last week
  17. I had it for over a year and couldn't shake it. Good advice already been offered by others. For me I changed from friction hitch to spiderjack +ropeguide, which naturally changed my climbing technique. I had the steroid injection which I have to say worked brilliantly, relieved the pain pretty much instantly. I also undertook a course of acupuncture, which also provided excellent results. I think the best advice is just to make a few subtle changes to the way you work.
  18. I found the slight abrasive qualities of tarmac weren't quite up to the job. Next time maybe just soapy water!!
  19. Thanks Mark. I think it's going to be a tricky few weeks ahead now. We all know how much time it takes to find a truck and get it how you want and fit for purpose. Think I'm looking at having to re-finance and maybe go for an Iveco daily? But I guess I'll have to wait and see what the settlement comes back like.
  20. That's hilarious, it's the shape of my balding head with the effect of the sunlight....honest guv!!
  21. Thanks for the support boys. Saws were wrecked and poles, rakes blower, ladders etc etc. Ball ache to say the least!! Never had to make a claim before so not sure how it will pan out..
  22. Ironically it was a recovery truck. It was an Iveco Daily.
