    Stihl 026

I think the 026 is a great little ground saw. Nice and easy to use (a lot of the colleges use them), not too heavy but with a surprising amount of grunt. Couldn't really say a price not too good on second hand equipment prices. Before you buy though make sure to check the compression!!

    Cobra??

A bit in the past, mainly cables (bad old days). I've been a groundie a couple of times when Cobra has been used but this will be the first time I personally will be doing it. How about you ? I find that a lot of people would rather just have the offending limb(s) removed rather than brace them.

    Cobra??

I've got a rather nice Gingko to brace, I'd like use the Cobra system or sometheing similar. Any recomendations out there as to which system and which supplier??? Thanks y'all. Oh and a Happy New Year to all.
  6. Very interesting indeed. Thanks for finding that one.
  7. Much appreciated, what dimensions do you need??
  8. Been burning well seasoned stuff now for 5 years in my wood burning stove. Our chimney isn't lined, my sweep, who I use once a year says to mix the wood with coal, apparently that goes a little way to self-cleansing the flue. I think every year about getting it lined but it's so damn expensive (before you say it I know, I know, cheaper than a new chimney breast etc etc.) Are there any cheap, diy liners. Is a job a competent DIYer can undertake??
  9. Used to love Top Tips, never failed to make me chuckle as did those. Good effort mate!!!
  10. Get a Jamesons 8ft pole and a BIG SHOT. Last week I was getting 60 plus feet (nearer 70ft) high anchor points from the ground (in only a few attempts). Great piece of kit and great fun to use. Ask Mr Tana Mahuta????
  11. Cheers Ross. You're right a great few days work. Feeling a little tender now though..........getting old and out of shape. Still back up the last one tomorrow. Thanks for the help bud!!! Speak soon
  12. I've got a "Roughneck". Plastic handle, copes with some real abuse and offers a degree of shock absorbtion. I think it cost about 40quid. Pretty good bit of kit really!!
  13. Interesting, all the blurb seems to promise increased MPG.
  14. Can't beat a wee drop of malt. My missus got me a bottle of 1956 Glen Grant for our wedding day. Smooth is not the word!!!! That's saved for special occasions my regular tipple is Dalwhinnie or quite partial to Ardbeg, any nice bit of Speyside or Highland. Easily pleased
  15. Has anyone out there tuned their diesel by adding one of the many "superchip" tuning devices that you can buy out there? They promise between 25-30 increase in BHP and increased torque levels. Do they work, are they dangerous for the engine, increased wear etc. They cost about £350Any thoughts on them out there?
  16. Seems like there's a few of us Jap fans out there. I'm wondering if this could be a good poll question. Jap or Landy what's best????
  17. Lets hope no-one on the site knows where you live!!!!!!!!!!!!! You might be recieving a few interesting packages through your letterbox
  18. You're a brave man making that statement on this site. Braver than me!!!! Just for the record I'm in the Jap camp aswell. Owned a L200 6 years ago, one of the old ones (K plate) and it was built like a tank. They are great trucks.
  19. I'm using XTC and either bee-line or Liros
  20. Mate you're bang on, it's so tempting to free climb a big burst of effort and then pull the slack through in one go having climbed maybe 3 or 4 metres. Too tempting!!!!
  21. the first and the second shots look great, not too sure on the third
  22. Mate you're forgetting your roots. Check these beauties out.
