  4. Spent about an hour up the yard hidden in the bushes trying to catch the buggers the other night...........got bored came home.
  5. Do you have a hiab on the truck or can one man lift a builders bag full of logs off the back of a truck???
  6. Have you used one of these??? Are they as good as they look??
  7. Exactly, I always try to put the ash etc one side for personal use. Have you had problems since???
  8. Hello y'all Just been down to my yard to find that some luverly person has helped themselves to a load of Ash cord wood.........left the conifer and shite wood......... very decerning indeed. Bit wound up and have a feeling may be the start of a regular occurance. My yard is a little bit in the sticks but obviously some one knows it excists!!! Have you good people got any tips on security for a rural yard, no electrics, no tools stored, just chips and wood/logs. Would a gate with a padlock really work?? I'm thinking along the lines of cemtex under the cordwood stacks and logs. I know it's no like getting a chipper nicked, but it's still annoying and hard not to take personal. Rant over!!!!!
  9. Very impressed people with the fungal knowledge, in my opinion the sign of a true arborist. One question is there a definative book out there for fungal ID which is aimed at arborist/tree workers and such. What books do you guys use. Or is it just good old Roger Philips??????
  10. My mate's got a Terrano with 180k on the clock, he tows around a 2 ton Predator stump grinder around all day with it and it does it with ease. It's never missed a beat, he has to replace the brakes fairly often though!!!!!!! He drives a bit like a loon!!!!!!!!
  11. Looks luverly!!!!!!!!!
  12. Any chance of finding one of these?????????
  13. Cheers do you know the link to the page for the online application on the planning portal???
  14. Is there a way that you can submit applications from the planning portal via email???? I find it easier to email applications , and have been doing so but now that these forms have to be used I'm not too sure how to go about it and still be able to email them. Surely I don't have to print them off, fill them in, scan them, then email them!!!!!!!!!! Any help greatly recieved. TA
  15. I've got a Nissan Terrano van. It's a 2.7 (120something horse power) turbo diesel, (same engine as in black cabs) It's got good ground clearance, pulls like buggery upto 3.5 tons and can carry a payload of 800kgs. It's pretty good but your looking at 30MPG. Worth looking at up against a freelander. There are some decent ex-environment agency ones out there!!!!
  16. Exactly, there are many more imprtant things to worry about. It's incredible how ANAL some people can be about stuff. Still gotta say made a great job of cleaning the car.
  17. Very reasonable!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Today I got threatened with by a neighbour of my client with calling the POLICE and charging myself and my groundie with CRIMINAL DAMAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The alleged crime was.....................................................................................................Getting dust from normal chipping operations on his CAR. (the sort of dust that easilt blows off with a blower at the end of the day) Honestly I kid you not. I realy had to bite my tongue and found myself five minutes later hozing the motor down to try to keep the peace. I know I shouldn't have, but it's a good area with plenty of trees and cash, so I thought for the sake of extra business probably worth it. So if theres anyone out there who wants their trees looked at AND the car washed at the same time....I'M YOUR MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Still trying to get my head around that one!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Mate it feels as if someone has cut my phone line!!!!!!!!
  21. That thought had crossed my mind aswell. See told you all it's a bit of a quandry!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Good advice.... thanks everyone.....much appreciated.
  23. It wouldn't be that because as I said it was me and my ex-collegues who did the work and we are all very professional so I can vouch for that.....more likely along the lines of cost.
