  1. Still not got round to sorting this pair out - both 1990 KTM 250's. One's an SX with EXC ignition (bigger flywheel) and EXC headlight and rear mudguard, the other's an actual EXC (with logbook) and plan is to build a nice one out of the pair eventually.

  4. Has anyone tried the X25? Generally I prefer a shorter handle for splitting and I noticed the X25 has the same weight head as the X25 so figured it could be OK. Also noticed that Wickes have them in stock for £30 too
  5. My Tirrol's probably spend more time on my feet than any other pair of shoes/boots and work fine as walking boots.
  6. It looks to me as though they've been removed and originally piled up but forgotten about, and then they've blown from the heaps. Some places will accept them for recycling too; we found that dumpy bags was the best way of collecting them up and transporting them with the handles tied together.

  8. I've thought about this for a while now and think it's got to be the mighty 242. It's probably the saw I use more than any other at the mo and it's just ace.
  9. I think I've got the predecessor to that one (without a camera) and it's years old and just keeps on going. think it was about £20 including £10 of credit. Batteries not right clever now but it's been the most reliable phone I've had
  10. Unless you've loads of spare time on your hands, I'd probably leave it where it is. I would guess it's about at the stage where the patches on the chassis aren't far off equalling the original chassis - the fact the towbar has been removed doesn't fill me with confidence either (why remove it and not refit it if the chassis is sound?). I think there's better ones out there for that sort of money. I read it more that he's a busy man and didn't have time rather than actually wanting to have to fix it
  11. My 550 has - got it done when I bought it way back in 2012. Surprisingly, the dealer hadn't even thought about doing it before I asked about it.

  13. 150 242 550 (maybe 357 - can't quite decide but 550 seems to win) 372 (pre X torq - only because I've never tried and X torq one) 066 (rather than 660)
  14. I really like the 3001 - compared to the diddy flying capstan we used to use it was a bit of a revelation.

  17. I've got an old Husq 181se here if it's of interest? Not the fastest revving saw in the world but loads of torque and not unpleasant to use.
  18. If this doesn't work, go to 1.03 minutes and it shows it briefly - looks like you can run it with or without it too.
  19. I don't know, but it does look to have some sort of stop bar so I'd guess it wouldn't take a lot to get it CE approved if it wasn't already. That was thinking Beau, even if it needed a bit of modifying over time it's still a fration of the TR prices. The one I always like the look of was the Rojek (I think - it was green and yellow) as it had an attachement to act like a delimbing kinfe to keep a bit more of the twiggy bits out
  20. Absolutely. What better way to see machines working than actually "working" rather than demoed.

  24. Also, the smallest Goldoni is tiny - even smaller than an AGT 835 and when I looked at them could hardly get on/off it without gettng my feet cottered up.
  25. One estate I worked on had a Stanley Logger (or what was left of one) and it was quite a tool. HSE had stopped them using it as it was so they took all the guillotine side of it off and made some new controls for the splitter and it worked really well. We could crane feed it with metre long pieces to billet or go through discs fairly quickly and put the loader bucket under the chute. Never did work out why it needed a 1m stroke as standard though.
