  1. thanks for the advice, think i will be out spending at the weekend!!
  2. Has anyone used the "worm" type PTO splitters....i used one for several years on the farm, used to park it next to the heap, or load onto a potato box for delivering (mainly to the boss!!) I thought it was a very fast way of splitting big reems, although tricky on smaller logs
  3. I have an old Weaver seat harness at the mo, its pretty knackered and hurts my hip bones when under pressure...i do like a seat harness but what would you lot recommend to replace it with?
  4. Yawn.....think of all that firewood!!!
  5. when working the woods you can normally get an idea of the time through the number of re-fuels on the saw.....not far out, when coppicing etc
  6. 357 is the top saw......power to weight, everything about it is perfect....even the colour!!
  7. :laugh:yeah and cuts that dont meet from the look of it....schoolboy stuff!! haha - wheres the wave thing gone??
  8. All i'd say is get some ali sides made or make them yourself, Conifer is heavy chip, with ali sides you will save weight and the lighter chip will be ok in the landy, then when you do Conifers, just make it in to a couple of trips back to the yard....problem solved!
  9. Yeah, you need a set of spikes and a lanyard to fell that high!!
  10. Yeah same here...and why the hell would anyone wanna go to Romford.....quickest way to getting stabbed i think!!!
  11. Haha, looks like Mr Bullman is off out doing weekend work in the LDV again!! But seriously the t*ssers want hanging!!
  12. ******* theiving *****!!!!! how can they steal from someone making an honest living, he should be hung from his balls!!!! Hope you get it back!! and make sure that 090 is locked up!!!!
  13. Husky all the way, especially for what you are doing, you cant beat a 346xp/357xp, The echo......ummmm well my mrs was thinking of getting one to dry her hair!!
  14. Bugger me 24,000......haha thats like 10 times faster than a normal mog!!
  15. hahahahahaha:icon14:
  16. yeah my mrs thinks im a secret rapist from the state of my arms!!!
  17. will start to spread outwards when topped, so best to lightly trim the sides too....but not too hard
  18. when topping conifers i normally only take up a cheap Eurostop, these are cheap and theres plenty to stand on when your up there, never wear spikes unless a takedown!!
  19. Sorry, i didnt mean from the weight, surely when you turn (like a lorry) one set of tyres are scuffing while the others are moving?
  20. my hi-lux has the turning circle of a cruise liner!!!
  21. nice!! does it scuff ther rear tyres badly when turning though?
  22. eah modern tractors have a device that not only adjusts the revs but also the injector pump to help keep the desired revs under load
  23. do you mean the rev counter on the mog dash? the mog could be/ should be doing more than 1000rpm engine speed to give 1000rpm at the PTO, like i said Flails/chippers on modern tractors require them to be pretty much flat out 2200/2300ish RPM, and they have a pto speed in the cab too
  24. sounds absolutely fine to me, most tractors etc run at 2300rpm or so to give out 1000 on the PTO on certain machines
