  1. I think the HSE have now gone down the route that ladders are an unsafe working practice as whilst working you don't have both hands on the ladder, so for you Dean looks like the MEWP will be in more demand. Window cleaners are starting to go down the pole fed cleaning system now.
  2. Thanks for that Andy, I'll give that a go and see how it does. Dave
  3. Horizon supplies tel: 01275342700
  4. Hi all, Hope you have all enjoyed the bank holiday weekend, been meaning to post this up for a week and bend your ears with any possible remedies to try and save the tree. Someone recommended to use tar oil on the infestation however this is no longer available and reading into the disease it seems that to fell is the only solution. My concern is the spread to other trees in the parkland, so any ideas would be most welcome.Below are some photos showing the dehydrated state of the foilage and the extent of the disease. Cheers for any input in advance, Dave
  5. How about trying a posting on gumtree or freecycle and see what response you get?
  6. A panther or similar?
  7. Welwell, PM sent your way. Dave
  8. The E/A are on an awareness campaign at the moment as they feel not enough businesses, not just Arb ones, are complient with the regs on waste.
  9. Thanks for that Luke, great help. Dave
  10. Hi, Does anyone know where I can hire a tracked chipper from in the kent area?Preferably near Tunbridge wells. Pricing for a job up there and need one for the access to site. Any suggestions welcome. Cheers Dave
  11. Cheers, I am very pleased with it and will use them again soon for more signage. He can do vinyl signs for placing on site @ £15 a time. Anyone want their details just ask.
  12. A nice saturday morning before the pub job this one. If she'll pay beautiful cash then £100. Otherwise £130:00 easily knock it out in 2 hours incl all tidying up.

  14. Just had my pick up done a couple of weeks ago by a firm in Canterbury will upload a pic later. The price was incredible £115:00 incl VAT. They did both sides, bonnet and tailgate took a few hours for them to put on. I am well pleased with it and they quoted £180:00 for transits!! Loads of companies would be around the 400 mark. White horse signs is the firm pics to follow.
  15. If you havn't confirmed with anyone I'll take that on. Can't do anything till 2nd week in April though. PM me if interested. Dave
  16. hiya, We can supply them no problem. You'll need to arrange haulage from kent however. What are the dimensions you are after, we've got some great felled and standing trunks to choose from. Get Back to me via reply or PM. Dave
  17. It seems that you have the clients trust and the job in the bag to. I would go for a day rate as like SWB says you can come across all sorts of nasties which can ruin your price work. Sounds like a great job, I've also got some lime and Ash work to do on really old TPO'd trees. Already had tree officer round who has granted work on trust. He doesn't like all the paperwork and can see they need desperate attention. Great to work alongside a TO applying common sense on the field.
  18. Work up this morning to find my wagon broken into, Hayter mower £500 quids worth taken and Kaylebs climbing gear. Sorry to hear about that. As the rest have said lots of this going on at the moment so we should all be extra vigilant. As a rule I NEVER leave anything in the truck, it is a pain in the arse loading and unloading adding at least an hour every day. The result however far outways the loss. Those b******s out there will take anything that sells.
  19. obviously paid by cut so of course they get out there as early as poss.
  20. Cracking shots, what did you do with the trunk? I know a master woodturner that would of ripped your arm off for that, with all the colour in it.
  21. Why don't you employ them on a piece rate that you work into your figures, leaving you with a profit. If you get 4 guys @100 a day some will work hard, some won't as at the end of the day they all get £100. Offering a piece rate per ton i'm sure you'll get guys that want to cut and earn on site and more timber on the ground. Just a thought.
  22. Hi Richard, I'm based in Teynham, Kent. I've taken your mobile no and will call you. Are you willing to work out a freelance/subbie day rate deal? Cheers Dave.
  23. Yes, he was assessing some young lad wasn't he? If I remember the lad was very lucky to pass. I had Mark assess me some years back, very nice bloke. Dave
  24. Soleil, If you need a subbie until your lad has passed then contact me by PM or post your details I'll be glad to help. Dave
  25. Hi, This chap is based in kent I think he does it near maidstone so a short trip up the M20. below is a link to his site. http://www.helpwithtrees.co.uk/ Hope this helps Dave
