  1. The Lorry turned up early and we needed it down on the deck ASAP as the road is the only one leading in to the area...

  3. If i think there is a risk of tearing, I usually put the "wing cuts" 5-10 cm below the directional cut and thus having all sapwood, with its good bending abilities, intact but with the safety of severed fibres if the piece tears.
  4. I'm pretty sure it's Pholiota... The tree had a healthy crown but FBs all around the trunk. It had to come down due to infrastructure work. So I didn't investigate further...
  5. Pherhaps try the "Do nothing" option? Ask yourself what the benefit from your interference will be and make sure it is a beneficial one...

  13. We have a local... never managed to beat me on price yet. Expensive kit and slow.... Used him once on busy road, no dropzone and knackered tree. Still lot of groundwork as the tree comes down in chunks with branches on.

  20. The one and only explains.... This thinking tool taken from nature is able to make light weight design proposals in engineering and to give a deeper understanding for nature. 21. Just use some CitricAcid in water and let it soak over night, that removes ANY rust!!! Ive done it to tools I have found buried for 30 years, they came out as new in surface but with the history intact! Then i use linseed-oil to prevent it from start rusting again (the oil can be heat sealed aswell...)
