  8. There has been a porous asphalt available for years, but its not very hardwearing so it is mainly used on parkinglots where wheelturn and other sideforces is limited. The picture shows how it can be used in combination with porous plantingpits (underneath the asphalt there is a fullloading capacity porous plantingpit with airation and waterstorage). The parkinglot has a combination of "normal" asphalt in the "road" and porous in the lots. Picture taken just after rain has stopped.

  16. So you used Picus on one tree with FB on it and felled the other? So picus are from tree still standing and pic of stump is the one witout FB, did I understand you correctly? So no correlation between Picus and stump shot? Except it would look very similar to the one you felled?

  19. Piptoporus betulinus, commonly known as the birch polypore, birch bracket, or razor strop, is one of the most common polyporous bracket fungi and, as the name suggests, grows almost exclusively on birch trees. The brackets burst out from the bark of the tree, and these fruiting bodies can last for more than a year. Technically, it is an edible mushroom, with a strong, pleasant "mushroomy" odor but a bitter taste. It is said to have medicinal properties, and the velvety cut surface of the fruiting body were used as a strop for finishing the finest of edges on razors. Dried specimens have also been used as tinder, and this fungus was carried by "Ötzi the Iceman" – the 5,000 year old mummy found in Tyrol.
  20. Not sure what you mean... but what I always did was to put the wire quite close to the butt, winch it in and drop it on the bed and either winch in more if it was small stuff and/or move the wire further down the trunk (the length of the distance between the mesh and the wheel on the crane) and then lift again and thus positioning it right between the loadingbars and close enough to the mesh, if you get what I mean:confused1: Ah, do you mean loading from the side? I loded from the bottom of it as I found it to be faster, as above. I only used it on bigger stuff never on thinnings and such.
