  1. I sell 2 or 3 loads of woodchip mulch most weeks (5 cubic metre loads) at £60 a time. I advertise it in the local press, most of it goes to private individuals with large gardens. It's not a bad little earner, only takes a couple of minutes to load with the tractor and it keeps the yard clear. Money for old rope.
  2. Had a demo on one, rollers are shite - not enough downwards pressure on the top one, tends to just strip the bark on awkward shaped branches rather than break them up and chip them - very much like the early greenmechs. So have you had good experience with them skyhuck?
  3. That's cool, sounds like you've got it set up just right:icon14:
  4. LOL, I'd be more concerned if you threatened to set your mewp up next to me!
  5. Yeah, give the Landforce a wide birth:icon14:
  6. Erm....nope, why would you think this? At what point did I say matt was doing anything wrong? I was simply stating the way I do things, as was he. Chill out old man:icon14:
  7. Was it really worth bothering with the high sides then? With me anything not good for the fire gets chipped and sold for ground cover/mulching, I don't see how leaving a saleable product on site is a benefit?
  8. Looks a great truck matt, shame it hasn't got the most important thing though - a tipper!
  9. Isn't this the same in all industries? I don't think it will ever change and I don't think it really matters - we've managed so far:wave:
  10. I've cut down several large Cordyline Australis palms in the past and the resulting logs have started growing again on top of my log pile! So I'm guessing if it's one of these then you should be okay transplanting it, as they're pretty tough!
  11. To be fair, times do change skyhuck. Personally, in just the last 3 months I have taken on 2 extra staff and bought a second truck. You can't expect someones business to stay the same forever.
  12. The diesel 15-23 is about £15k inc vat. If it's only yourself that's going to be using your chipper I wouldn't worry about buying a secondhand one that doesn't meet current HSE regs. I would only worry about it meeting the current regs if you're going to have staff using it.
  13. The old greenmechs were shite, but the newer range are excellent machines. Don't think you'll go wrong with the 15-23 you're talking about.
  14. no, he said anything below 5" would struggle. I think even a 5" still struggles with most stuff:icon14:
  15. Come on Pecontools - this is you you're talking about really isn't it:) I can just picture your new avatar, you screwed up in a little ball on the floor with a pile of rope on top of you and a 200t sticking out the top!
  16. Got to admit that does look pretty cool Pecon, though I don't agree with your first sentence.
  17. Don't think many people would accept that someone who owes them money has gone bankrupt without some proof.
  18. Luckily my wife isn't a bitch. I've been with her for 12 years, since I was 18, had 2 kids together and never been happier. And she isn't buying it for me, our money gets put together:icon14:
  19. Rubbish. Driving a new 4x4 does not make a statement of disregard. Do people buy Mondeos because it makes the statement they're completely boring, with no taste or style? That is one warped view you've got. By the way, what do you drive?
  20. My wife went to bed long ago, she's got to be in London at 10a.m. tomorrow to fight someones corner in the Crown Court - and help pay for my new toy:star:
  21. The definition of an excessive amount of money depends on how much money you personally have. I would say that for me to spend £250k on a Bentley would be excessive, but if I had 5 or 6 million in the bank then I probably wouldn't. Likewise, if you haven't got a pot to p*ss in then spending £1000 on a car would be excessive. Surely you must grasp this?
  22. Nice truck! And nice to have someone not taking the moral high ground! So whats it got under the bonnet/hood?
  23. In that case Pecontools must be hung like a hamster:)
  24. Personally I think 5" is too small. Not because you'll be chipping that diameter of timber, but just for getting those gnarly branches in there. Also, if you chip a decent sized piece of Leylandii, by the time it has got to the end of the branch where all the greenery is it is going to be a lot thicker than 5".
  25. So not by choice then. I do have the choice. This is about buying a safe, practical, family car that still has some street cred - I haven't bought a Lamborghini or anything!
