  1. You're missing my point. If someone wants a flash car, and they can afford it then what's the problem??
  2. We have a fantastic life thanks. This is getting silly! How does driving an X5 mean this??
  3. I always buy what I need for work aswell:icon14: People spend what they can afford on a car - someone living on benefits would think its nuts to spend £2k on a car - do you? I doubt it. Each to their own.
  4. Erm.... my wife and kids don't exactly go without, and we have planned extensively for the future. But thanks for your concern:icon14: Nothing to do with being cool - do you drive a 70mpg car?
  5. Unfortunately the tank is rather large.......
  6. As far as the environment goes petrol and diesel is going to be used till it runs out no matter how fast or slow this happens.
  7. http://www.testdriven.co.uk/news.cfm/jeep-comes-bottom-of-reliability-chart http://www.whatcar.com/NonCar/251066539451.jpg
  8. Nice motor, my wife has got a DB9.
  9. A bit of a pointless article if you ask me. People buy what they like - nothing to do with anyone else. Do you drive the cheapest most environmentally friendly car possible??
  10. Plenty of nice Range Rovers and X5s on my road, can't say we've ever had a problem with gangsters! I don't live in the middle of Birmingham!
  11. but breaks down every 5 miles.....
  12. I like the performance of the Cayenne, but that's about all. Plus, the turbo version is around £73k compared to the £51k that I'm paying for my X5.
  13. It's a free world - just. You cycle everywhere and I'll drive my X5.
  14. To be honest, most of the people who I see driving X5s are just family people. Like I said, the Audi just looks a bit too much like an estate car for me - and anyway I've already parted with a substantial deposit:scared:
  15. My brother-in-law runs a Disco 3 which spends most of its life off road, he wouldn't swap it for anything!
  16. Yes, I took a look at the Q7. One of the engine variants is a superb 4.2tdi with a 0-62mph of 6.4 secs! I think this performance is mainly due to the fact that it is more like an estate car on steroids than a 4x4 - I prefer the look of the X5, and the 4.8 V8 that I'm getting is actually the same price as the Audi 4.2 diesel - and I like a nice V8!!
  17. The one I've ordered weighs in at 2180kgs, but has a combined fuel consumption of 23.5mpg - not too bad considering it's 355bhp. Top speed is listed at 152mph. I'm having 20" alloys fitted instead of the standard 18" so I expect this will alter some of these figures slightly.
  18. Not buying it for work, obviously. To be honest I just like them, but to convince the wife I told her how practical and safe they are as a family vehicle, and I've got to say, if you've got 2 young kids and a dog and are into various outdoor activities they are ideal. Plus they look a darn site better than a Renault Espace!
  19. Nice truck, but I don't think the kids would appreciate being put in the back of that! - perhaps when they're a bit bigger though:dancing:
  20. Bet that's pretty quick off the mark. I had a look at the new range of Jeeps - I must admit I do like the Grand Cherokee, but one or two of the smaller ones look a bit to boxy for my liking.
  21. Ordered one of these on Saturday. Its the new BMW X5. I've gone for the 4.8iSE. I've got the old shape 3 litre diesel at the moment but after test driving this beast I'm going to have to sacrifice the economy of diesel with the performance of petrol - 0-62mph in 6.5 seconds!!! Can't wait to pick it up. Just thought I'd share my good news. Anyone else on here got one of the top-end 4x4s?
  22. 2 wheel drive versions usually have a better payload.
  23. I paid £535 for a trainee to do cs30/31 last October, that included the seperate assessment.
