  1. Steering went on Landrover today, just gone over a motorway bridge at 50 mph, pulled over, turned steering and steering just went light, main drop arm ball joint snapped. Doesn't bear thinking about what would have happened if it had gone a few seconds earlier. It was put on new last year, just goes to prove, buy cheap but twice. Anyhow, 3 minutes an a 600mm sling got me home
  2. What about the m22 version, your groundy would have to sit on the engine cover mind
  3. You have to put in the description about Petzl warning
  4. Thats exactly how I was when my farmer neighbour told me his was up for sale, I ended up with it even though I couldn't really afford it Glad I did now though (-;
  5. Trying to build up a Whisky collection but I'm drinking it too fast
  6. This is the best yard machine you can get, cheap to run, once you've programmed it you can leave it to do the work itself. There should be loads of these about in your neck of the woods
  7. Already on the Whisky Gareth (-: I tend to try and stay out of the workshop whilst tasting, I need to be able to think straight.
  8. Still on with this job, proving to be a very technical repair. Original motor controller proved unrepairable so bought one off eBay , this one turns needed the wiring loom and motor feed cables altering to fit. Ended up doing some cable splicing, new cable end crimping and to top it all the controller is a restricted access one, meaning you can't program it with the programmer I have, so ordered another blank microchip from rs hoping to get round the lock code
  9. Mr Pinus Sylvestris, if it was some obscure firm bringing out a new product then people may have held back a little. But it was Petzl, who are market leading innovators. If rolls Royce brought out a new motor would customers hold back to see if anyone had problems? ..... I think not Mr Pinus You can't go round all your life with such mistrust, at some point you have got to step forwArd of the crowd and shout "yes, this is me, I am awesome and will dispense with the scepticism that has blighted my life and I am going to go against the deep inbred scottish fear of spending money and be the tree I have always wanted to be, I want to be that pioneering tree, the one that grows where no other tree will grow, clinging to the edge of the crevice on nothing but rock, with the odd particle of nutrient blowing by on a stormy wind, I want my little Pinus needles to ride that wind of change and innovation. Yes yes yes" The forest of Pinus you stepped forth from will be rooted behind you, cheering you on, pushing you forward Just imaging Pinus Sylvestris, just imagine..!
  10. Got an explanation hazzy, like side loading
  11. I wa looking at that one, I'd take the box straight off an put mine on it. That box must weigh a bit in itself
  12. Does it fit in your trouser phone pocket
  13. Is that 15 on just the eye though Marc which is only taking half the load ?
  14. Speculation again chaps, but IMO the only way to snap that bridge without sustaining a broken back or internal injuries is to have a non round crab sideways, the corners of the crab would create a point of pressure In very small area sideways. IMO again, I think it is common sense to use a round crab with the bridge hole being a small one, no other crab should be used
  15. Haha, yes I am, been with her 27 years (-;
  16. No I don't think there has, the point I am making is that people should have confidence in their equipment. I used to trust that loop on the lockjack which most people would find harder to trust, so trusting the petzel zigzag is very easy for me. Like Marc says, if people have to put in a redundancy system to trust it then perhaps the zigzag is not for them and should perhaps go back to something they do trust As a precaution while the facts come out is ok imo
  17. You want to try dangling at 70ft on the original lockjack eye, on comparison the zigzag is bomb proof. This is the very first lockjack loop the only thing stopping you from free fall and I was still using this up till a couple of years ago. The stem is 7.5mm and the loop wall is 4.5mm
  18. It's the expense of the delivery system Mate, it can cost a fortune without a drying part as well. Good idea though. The reason the brash logging is a good idea is you can bag them on site and each bag will be worth £3 ish, so you can count them onto the back of your truck in proper Yorkshireman style £3, 6, 9, 12 ........,,, money in the bank mate. Better than tipping chip for free at the golf course
