  1. Just been speaking to a mate about this thread, he had a good chuckle to himself. He did 22 years in the RUC where people didn't just bad mouth the police or be sick over them on a Saturday night, they actually wanted to kill them. He twice had a bomb under his car, one he found the other he found after his car wouldn't start. He had to be careful where he drank, where he ate and where he took his kids. When people aimed vitriol and threats at him they weren't idle threats, they meant it. Getting separated from your colleagues was life threatening. Coppers over here think they have a bad lot, at least they could get up and drive to work in a morning with out having to check for bombs or worry about being ambushed on the way. Puts things into perspective (-:
  2. With being big into shooting I have access to barristers, ex mp's, solicitors, doctors etc etc My problem is (and I know I'm my own worst enemy) I don't like people doing stuff for me or people doing favours for me. I try to take on things myself and sometimes it's a bit much, all this despite a good friend who is a barrister offering to sort it out at no cost, his wife is a European civil rights judge who sits on these genera convention type cases. I've got se really good character references, from a doctor and a retired scientist and a barrister, and have spoke to the police solicitor dealing with it. He doesn't want it to go to court (no surprise there) and wants to deal with it in house. Everything will come good, but I'm going to have a hugely stressful year just because of one bad officer and three others with no backbone to disagree with their superiors judgement
  3. Stox, I have had an experience with the police this year, I was totally innocent, hadn't done anything wrong, clean record without even a parking ticket in 28 years, three coppers as good friends and yet I have been stitched up like a good un. All this because of one coppers over zealous policing and then subsequent lies to cover it up, all this to save her a little embarrassment. So we have a police officer lying, two other officers colluding and when a full complaint has gone in, an inspector at her nick missing out vital parts of my statement to dumb the whole thing down. People moaning about bad policing generally have good reason and first hand experience to do so. It isn't always guesswork. As a result I have lost all my guns and thousands of pounds financially, the guns alone are worth £10k and I now have a 10 month battle to prove my innocence and legal fees on top
  4. The two main runners are 100mm x 50mm ( top and bottom are 9mm thick and the rib is 6mm) The cross pieces are 50mm x 50mm x 3mm box section The skirts that go all round the edges are 135mm x 35mm x 4mm John, I don't know how much the payload is off the top of my head but it now carries half as much again as it did before
  5. Hi Charlie Box has stood up well, there is the odd dent in the side from throwing a huge log in but no others to speak of, they can be covered up with sign writing if it gets bad. Just been out and measured up, the corner posts are 3mm box, the sheeting for the sides and roof are also 3mm. The front is 2mm but is corrugated and has a stiffener running down the middle inside. The floor is Ali planking, see photo, don't know what thickness as I can't see, but would think about 2mm, the ribbing makes it quite strong. Some photos to show how its put together. If you want more let me know which detail and ill sort it Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  6. I definately wouldn't buy one new, far too much money. I don't think they would pull on an incline with any weight in either, they are made for estate work I reckon, for carrying a few rakes about and sweeping up leaves I think you have to not expect too much from them, they are basically an electric golf buggy. I don't mind having a dabble at these sorts of prices though
  7. Now here's a bargain, the newer shape updated ones 2 X AXIAM MEGA TRUCKS, ALL ELECTRIC, TIPPER BODY 2010 | eBay
  8. Rather do the tinkering than watch coronation street Scott
  9. Your not joking...it's minimum purchase of £20 for free postage otherwise you have to pay £5 postage for a tiny part that weighs the same as a feather. What I have been doing is making up the difference in side light and brake light bulbs etc for the trailer, cars and chipper. So I'm not going to be scavenging round trying to find a bulb for the next couple of years
  10. I,m thick skinned Funnily enough, it was only out on the road for five minutes yesterday and a couple walked past it, the lad was that busy looking back at it he nearly walked into my drive wall
  11. Spot on, I think all in I,m still under £20 so far
  12. Replaced the two components and put it back together...bingo ! Sparked into life, self diagnostics tested and reset themselves and forward and backward lights lit up. Jumped in, reversed it down the driver and out into the road to find forward didn't work, bummer...there's me sat in the middle of the road. Had to get the landy out and drag it forward enough to reverse back up the drive. Forward light lights up but doesn't go anywhere, so have gone further back down the circuit board and found two controller chips or drivers, one is reverse the other forward, so one must be duff, replace them both tomorrow and see
  13. They don't work, I put three up and before long the pigeons were using them as a perch
  14. Beautiful today.....me that is View out of my front window
  15. On the other side of the coin.. Did the driver know the guys were or weren,t trained under nswra Did the driver know they had or hadn't informed highways Did the driver know the site was or wasn't set out to chapter eigth Assault is assault, the above is no defence against it
  16. My advice in your situation would be to get some crutches from somewhere and have the at the side of the door at your member of staffs home. If and when the police do come knocking, answer the door with crutches. When the police come in and ask why the crutches, tell them you have not been able to walk since the incident and think you have damaged your crucial ligament in the incident and will not be able to work for some time. They will then go back to the guy and tell him and he will crap himself
  17. Grossly unfair really, those that are responsible that bank and save for their future get penalised while the cash barons and under the mattress people don't ??
  18. Found some pre digital photos of some of my toys and the kids toys
  19. Try using a skidsteer for about 60 runs of about 600m over a golf course, you'll soon be wishing you had my loader. Each machine has its own niche
  20. Just removed another two power mosfets and found one was a duffer, so hopefully this will sort it. This is just the motor speed controller
  21. The problem wasn't him being stopped, I would want my trucked stopped if it were out after dark. It's presuming the occupant is a criminal just because someone phoned in a suspicious vehicle. There was no need to treat the op has he was treat. A couple of questions and a PNC check would have sorted it. Why box him in, why not just a flash of the blues and allow him to pull over ? I get it all the time when out shooting, I had armed response come screaming down a lane sirens and blues blazing after someone phoned in a man with a gun in a field. I was zeroing my rifle for half an hour in a 50 acre field with my sign written truck beside me and in full view of 200 houses on land the police know I shoot.
