  1. Any idea of the draw current for the little blowers on the assisted boilers ? Don't get me wrong, modern off grid power generation is very efficient now and can cope with modern residual current draw, ie power needs that you must have 24/7 such as alarm, alarm clock, heating circulation pump and clocks
  2. Re: fans for firewood burning, the reason I looked into logettes is so I didn't have to have a fan assisted burn because I'd be living off grid
  3. It would, it's the drying of the chip that's the problem not burning it. Re compacting the logettes more, that would cause a problem with drying them. The while point is to bag them green and reasonably loose to allow airflow to dry them
  4. That's it Chris, the one at the show is a variation of that one with the hopper much lower. With biomass boilers coming on scene, these will be a good manual fed alternative to hopper fed woodchip types and the problems of drying the chip
  5. Somebody will put a link up. This machine is more of a shear action, a slow moving flywheel shears little lumps off straight into the bag, in effect you are logging every single inch of the tree to the branch tips, I think it did from about 4 or 5 inch down to nothing. I aim to get one once I have paid off my loader, as they weren't cheap, somewhere around £4k but a cracking idea, why they aren't well known about I have no idea
  6. I didn't like her daughters little speech yesterday, I found it typically arrogant. My mother said to me, " Carol..I think my place in history is assured" And ...... Her daughter then said, " this week is going to be a tough week, even for the daughter of the Iron Lady" emphasising the last bit. She was to me an arrogant, hard faced woman with a point to prove, that she as a woman would not back down........that is a very dangerous stance to take. Many world leaders have taken this stance before at a huge cost in human lives.
  7. Have you not seen the brash processor and baler at the shows Steve..? Bit like a very slow running chipper, you put a bag over the outlet and feed in the brash, it cuts the brash neatly into 4 or 5 " lengths and drops it in the net bag leaves an all. It's only a small thing too, like a garden shredder The net bag then allows the contents to dry and you just sell it by the bag or throw the whole bag on your fires as is.
  8. Nail hit squarely on the head there
  9. I normally have around 80lb of venison in my freezer, but it's empty at the moment
  10. I loved it when I went to France, beef in the butchers there is nearly black on the outside its been hung that long. Trouble is the wife does the shopping, you can't tell a woman .... I reckon 50% of the weight of that mince came out immediately in water, I have just added carrots, turnip, broccoli, apple, pasta and rice and cooked it all without adding any more water....says it all really
  11. Tried to fry this beef in a tiny amount of oil, it ended up boiled. Bloody disgusting how much water they put in meat
  12. What do you reckon on the chances Tony ? Spoke to the owner today and they would be happy with a heavy reduction
  13. Good video to bump seen as how interest in mini loaders has increased,
  14. Just refused it again " visual amenity" It is in a position where it can cause harm It is over a building It's growth from an old stump It has included bark on every stem It has a hollow in the centre you can push a bar down into which is full of sludge and scum It has an flat cross section with included bark at the rear tension side and an old peg at the front which is creating a rot pocket on the main stem compression side over the house It's on a woodland edge bang on the boundary where the woodland is in serious need of a thin and maintainance But hey, from a distance it looks good
  15. I never attach to my belt, only because I find the chain snags my kegs.
  16. Or it could rev when running out of fuel and damage a rope
  17. I would say they are a mini tablet, not a phone
  18. Daughters just got one, they are huge
  19. That's how I see it too Huck The TO,s idea of a reduction would be 1-2 metres, you start getting into 4-6 " diameter wood and I would call that a pollard. I would want to keep my good relationship with the TO rather than with one customer
  20. That was the problem, don't take it to heart, I,ve cocked up many a time
  21. There's a difference between drifting off subject and slagging someone off to potentially millions off people when those millions of people are not in possession of the full facts. This forum is not for you to air your dirty washing. I would expect an experienced chainsaw user to have noticed something wasn't right with the saw long before the clutch burnt out btw
  22. Tbh I swap about, sometimes ill use the lock jack for a year then suddenly fall out with it and go back to VT, I do like the ZZ though
  23. So what's the above drivel got to do with the op " how often do you lock your chainbrake"
