  1. Someone on work experience should be "looked after" The fact that someone allowed him to do the cut, then allowed him to continue the cut actually placed the lads life in serious danger and he was very lucky he wasnt killed Had he been killed, you can rest assured someone would be to blame
  2. I want to know what your up to in the first pic Mick
  3. Do you wear those Arborcoms to bed too stevie
  4. I just cut out sugar in my tea Dave If you think about how many brews you have a day and how many teaspoons of sugar you are consuming, you are burning that instead of fat. I went to 16 stone 6 months ago, now I'm 14 Oh ...and just cut out the inbetween snacking and chocky biscuits at lunch Oh...and excercising helps but apparently you have to run for 100 miles just to burn 1 pound of fat, it's better and easier not to put it in your gob in the first place
  5. Got some stuff at the show to try, don't know what it is ? I bought it because it looked pretty:biggrin:
  6. Of an Arbtalk / Jonesies show gathering
  7. It is Ice. No cut with saw, like I said the freying was under the knot out of sight and when I have measured it it is half way through. It hasn't been used that much David. Needless to say I have changed my cord to another make now
  8. As above, this was ok pre climb. I checked it again mid job and it was knackered No fast decent burning or owt. It had start freying unnoticed under the wraps on my VT. So it pays to keep constantly checking your tackle whilst in use.
  9. Your making excuses for a bad machine Rob, send it back Mine would cut straight through knots, burls or nails
  10. Looks like your on your own so far Rob
  11. Just been out to price a job clearing some old brash next to a line of mature trees along a footpath. The mature non council owned trees are being taken down by the council to stop any chances of litigation as they are lifting the council owned footpath. Whilst looking one of the householders who's garden bounds the footpath came over, straight away I thought to myself, here we go! Are you from the council ? No, we're not here about the big trees, just this rubbish on estate land. Oh, it's just that they never seem to be in a hurry to clean the leaves up from these trees. But they are not council owned trees ?? So, they still have an obligation to clean them up Really, I wasnt aware they had and besides that they probably have better things to do than clean up leaves to save you a job and we are in a recession. God I could feel myself boiling up the selfish, ignorant waste of human flesh
  12. I want a road sign with my own wording making up Please use your common sense SLOW DOWN ! Pedestrians Please wait here till seen
  13. Nice one Dave, have they given you any inclin as to whether you will have full use and range of movement yet ?
  14. Got back to my yard to find these reprebates, so I blocked em in, when they got out the van and spoke I could tell they were foreigners and couldn't understand a word so presumed they were lost and let them go
  15. I'm ontop of a hill and my house is called "Windy Ridge" The house is shaking
  16. It's always the girth that matters Pete
  17. I have just taken out a blackthorn hedge on my land. Certain times of year seem to be worse than others for any wounds from them to swell and become infected. I didn't mess about this time, one cut at the bottom and wrench the whole thing out with the tractor and stack with the tractor, then burn it instead of chip.
  18. It would be a good experiment to airspade one of these relocated trees up in 10 years time, just to see if the large severed roots react the same as a large severed branch and form a decay pocket similar to a topping cut rot pocket, so by weakening the root plate. I would imaging different species of tree would heal better than others etc same as they do with topping cuts. What we are doing in reality is "bottoming" a tree instead of "topping" it
  19. Dont buy a tri axle then, mine shook the towbar off my Landcruiser
