  1. What a disappointing thread !! I was expecting photo's of arb wifes in nothing but pinnies, stood over a hot stove
  2. Myt kubota heater works the same, you turn the key on then halfway between on and start, the ignition light goes dim, I hold it there for 20 seconds the turn it a bit more to start The only problem I'm having is the oil viscocity in this cold. Its selectomatic. I can sit there with it in gear and the clutch up for around 2 minutes before it starts to move. Once it's warm it's off straight away
  3. All 4x4's will struggle pulling a trailer in mud or on ice, again, it depends on what weight the trailer is, how many wheels it has and how wide those wheels are. There are a huge number of variables, not just what vehicle it is Towing a trailer is like thowing out an anchor, some surfaces it wont dig in, others it will and on mud it digs in well. We all know what it is like pulling a chipper round and how if affects our motors
  4. Even my tractor get stuck in mud pulling trailers In the snow any 4x4 is good with the right tyres, the traction control system on landrovers or any other motor fitted with it (landcruiser) gives them a bit of an edge, I watched a new defender fitted with Traction control, sit there with all four wheel turning on an icy slope. All 4x4's have a limit Its a combination of driver, tyres and how the vehicle controls power to the wheels
  5. Normally the first sign of a water pump seal failure is a leak from a little drainage hole at the bottom of the pump body
  6. Felltastic day on friday, 45 degree north facing frozen banking on top of a very high hill, fell sned and leave. Dog after he had retreived a duck from the pond, his fur froze solid on the outside
  7. First of all try checking the little wire that goes to the solonoid on the starter. See if the spade connector is a loose fit, if it is give it a squeeze with pliers to tighten it up If it is the starter contacts the solonoid as suggested above, the solonoid will click but the starter wont turn
  8. Haha...sorry that should have been nearly shot at point blank twice not once I've shot all my life and have been a shoot captain for about 9 years, my shoot if one of the safest there is. However, I have been on many shoots where safety is obviously second place to paying gun satisfaction. I am a firm believer that to own a shotgun or firearm certificate, you should have to attend a course on safety, ballistics and handling.
  9. I've been shot once, peppered twice and nearly killed at point blank once. Still love shooting and think it's ultra safe compared to driving
  10. It can do yes, it will wet the carbon brushes which will then leave a black sludgey mess on the comm and a bad contact will result and also the brushes will stick However, I suspect it may be your solonoid, mine is doing exactly the same at the moment.
  11. Taste the water If it's sweet, it's coolant If no taste, it's water from condensation, warm engine moving warmed air up onto cold metal bonnet and wings. If it tastes foul, it's probably cat pee
  12. I do the same with the landrover back Andy...but they then ask "well how many logs is that". What I did one day was to fill bulk bags level, then empty into the back of the landrover. It turned out that my landy holds exactly three 85cm square bulk bags. Everyone knows what a builders bag looks like, so now when they ask, it's easy to explain
  13. Its not a problem anyway as a solid cubic metre would be twice the price of a loose cubic metre, so no-one looses out anyway
  14. Dean Lofthouse

    Wow.

He had some balls with the 50 cal
  15. Aye, they haven't got a clue and they're damn ugly too
  16. If thats the case Sean I'd send it back, it's most important there are no airleaks
  17. No it should be a tight seal, the door should be adjustable ?
  18. What about Arbtalk....is that ok
  19. Just taken me over an hour to log on
  20. Carl, I would approach the households and ask them if they all want to buy a plot to extend their gardens, £5K a pop and how many houses ?
  21. Has taken me over an hour just to get onto the site, once I'm on it runs relatively ok
  22. I'm having the same, arbtalk slow loading and sometimes not at all, other websites load fast, but only in peak periods. 8.15 am Sunday morning its nice and fast
  23. Facom is the french equivelent of Snap on. I think it is Sykes Pickavant that do halford stuff . Either.....or.....it doesn't really matter, whoever make them, they are excellent semi pro tools
  24. I bought a woodland and made a clearing to store logs and chip, put up a wooden structure open fronted barn. You can clear a small opening ( with the blessing of the forestry comission ) as I did on your quarterly felling allowance, as long as the stocking density remains the same. In other words plant new trees somewhere else where the woodland is thin. The only problem I can forsee is if you want a container on site If your concerned about it give planning a ring, tell them your thoughts and pick their brains. I personally would buy first then act later, even if you dont get to use it, it would be a good investment if you didn't pay over the odds for it. My 3.5 acres of woodland cost me £10K.
