  1. Will do Antione Good to see you too, I particularly love baffling you with my knowledge of Fungi
  2. Not yet mate, waiting till I'm less stressed so I can take it in properly
  3. No reverse snobbery going on, just amend the bold to: use it where appropriate and you will see my point.
  4. What really does get my goat is "Tree People" belittling domestic customers stating latin names for Common trees. Unusual/specemin trees you may get away with and would come across ok, but come on.... Mrs Smith isn't interested genus, species and sub species........ "I'll deadwood your Ash Tree Missus" will do fine
  5. That comment backs up my theory quite nicely thank you
  6. My interpretation of this is that your friends and colleagues like to portray a superior intelectual image. I buy trees regularly from my local tree grower, I always ask for the trees I require by common names despite knowing their latin names. I personally do not feel the need to portray my dominance to the person I am dealing with
  7. Excuse my analogy, but why speak german to order your fish and chips. "Eeerrrm.. could I have a portion of Melanogrammus aeglefinus with solanum tuberosum please ? " To me it is rediculous and unneccessary in the uk and is used mostly to enhance the Victuals of those less fortunate than myself
  8. When in Rome ............ But we are not in Rome
  9. Expensive but good, I bought 2 gallon a while back but not used it on ragwort yet http://www.amenity.co.uk/control-of-nettles-and-thistles/tordon-22k-herbicide-5l.html
  10. You were never a serious contender Justin with Chris wearing those wellies
  11. Sorry Rich, how could I forget you !! Most importantly big thanks to you for the venue and all the work you put in before, during and after to make the show a big success
  12. Nice relaxing weekend for me and meeting up with a few old friends and new ones. I'd been stressed out to the max previous to the show and feel a lot better for it now. Your efforts are much appreciated Justin and good stuff for Steve Bullman too for his charity work at the show and the lifts to and from the hotel and also giving me an idea for fund raising at the little show we have on our shoot, I'm googling throwing axes as we speak
  13. Haha, I brought this up a few years ago and got a slating for my efforts
  14. I saw it first
  15. Cheers chaps. I'll post some after pics when available. I believe the reason for him getting bitten was he was doing the classic drunken trick of doing the, "here kitty kitty to a Lion" routine.
  16. I love arbtalk
  17. Dont know the type of dog yet. The issue I have is that the fence is onto a public area, so really the fence should have been solid or have an inner fence so the dog couldn't get to the slatted fence I must say it does look worse than what it is because the have taken a flap of scalp, left it attached and twisted it round just above his nose then grafted it on the wound. This leaves a blood vessel attached in the graft itself, once it has taken the cut off the bit of graft then twist it back and sew the remainder back into the scalp.
  18. This is my dipstick brother who lost his nose at the weekend after coming out of a pub and walking over to a nearby fence in the carpack to stroke a dog. He has always been ugly but this is going to make him even uglier A temporary graft has been taken from his head and pulled down to cover the wound, it should look a lot better once he has the proper op It could have been a child walking over to the fencing in the carpark and putting it's hand through......doesn't bear thinking about. He says he isn't going to take action because he doesn't want the dog to be put down. I have told him he's an idiot, it's about safe guarding others. If the dog is that bad, the fence should have been a solid one
  19. gaga ?
  20. I'm the one in the middle, with green top and shades with the camp stance
  21. Is that a woodpecker hole at 2:51
  22. I have just made a brew for myself and when I went to drop the teabag in the cup I missed, so I picked it up and went to drop it in again and missed again..........6 times all together I missed the cup !
