  1. I find my 130 very fuel efficient considering the work it does at around 22 mpg
  2. When I checked with the LA the Order was "about" to expire, but they witheld that info, so by the time my app went in............... I dont think it would have made any difference
  3. I have just been threatened with legal action by a client because of my LA I submitted a Tree Works application to fell 100 trees (leylandii) with a temp TPO on them, in the time between the enquiry and the app being submitted the TPO expired because the LA are run off their feet and obviously put it to one side to do later. My application then prompted them to renew the tpo and now I am getting blamed because the owner of the trees is now saying he could have felled them in the time inbetween Trouble just follows me
  4. Thats why I could never hire it out on its own Peter. Once you get to know the machine it is a very good machine, but it takes a long time
  5. It's probably the little blue thingumy bob in the middle, I'll tap it with a spanner, then if that dunt work, I'll borrow your big hammer
  6. Fault finding on the mewp 8.30pm Less to go wrong with a pair of ladders I suppose edit: and it is even more complex than it looks on the photo
  7. That's a bit harsh David
  8. Haha. I've had that little chestnut a few times. I just tell them they can keep the wood if they wish or I'll bring it back minus transport cost and they can have a go at selling it for the price of the job
  9. It will run it The 755 three point will lift 350kg and it is a 20hp tractor which is enough to run the splitter no worries. ..and if I were being honest, I would have that splitter back over the brand new version I have just bought
  10. That will take some beating
  11. Adam, I want an action replay on that "where it's going to fall" marker if thats what it is. It looks too perfect
  12. Thats me, Skyhuck, TomD and Stevie booked in for both days
  13. I'm saving my tips up for this, I have worked out that I should be able to buy it in the year 2241 39' Winnebago Meridian american RV motorhome *10% sale* | eBay UK
  14. That's a good one Janey...no idea I was going to say movement of tectonic plates
  15. No worries....correct on all counts. The whistle does work as a call quite well actually
  16. A day of and so far I've spent: £95 red diesel £36 on a cylinder of helium £32 on a new acetylene regulator £32 on a new Oxygen regulator £x amount on account with a fresh argoshield light cylinder and an Acetylene cylinder. Expensive day off
  17. That dog needs shaving Chris
  18. I think that is what we need, "outside the obvious box thinking" It's the easiest thing in the world to take someones idea and refine it. This smart winch could be a very usefull tool if refined, but nothing new. I personally aim to avoid lowering at all, so a GRCS would sit on the shelf for periods of 2 years at a time
  19. Robert.....dont state the obvious man !!
  20. You could put it that way if you dont mind big bollards
  21. True and this is only my theory, but I would say it is the first half wrap that takes the vast majority of the hammer, the rest takes very little. So can we make that first half wrap more efficient ? Heat dissapation would be a problem and would have to involve cooling fins inside the bollard or outside the tube ?
  22. Haha Your used to working in this.....I'm sweating just typing a reply
  23. Exactly Rupe, or even a straight tube that is in two pieces and clamps the rope. Heat dissapation isn't a major factor as you say, but the rope would have a huge amount less acting on it if it had more surface area to spread the friction over. If it were possible, hypathectically speaking, you would only require a fifth of a wrap instead of a full wrap or it could be run through a 2" tube instead of 10" round a bollard
  24. It may sound a little ludicrous, but why work in 30+ today when tomorrow is going to be a loverly 20 degrees Got up this morning and inside the house was already 25 degrees. I went down the yard yesterday to do some fencing and ended up packing it in far too hot. As you can tell, I hate working in hot temperatures
  25. Any pc is good......thats one hell of a fat wallet there Panning out a little reveals why our lass is always having a go at me about having a tidy up
