  1. Mick - imagine the size of you if you didn't cycle!!
  2. Very! Like I said earlier, my BC1000 seems fairly good - I recon It'll do 5 days continuous work before a fill-up.
  3. Just a few pics I found off Google......amazing what trees can swollow-up!
  4. …..that would get the neighbours talking! lol
  5. Excellent chipper - just been on their web-site, no fuel figures anywhere - I guess they think if you can afford one of these monsters, you can afford to run it!
  6. Seeing my two children and hopefully taking them to a local village gymkhana if the rain stops!! Plus – I’ve been out with my camera taking pictures of some questionable tree work – but I need to find out if its anyone off here before I publish them…
  7. We had a wet-land area created in out local park in Pershore. It was raised about half a foot and the local ‘action-group’ made the council put side-rails up in case someone fell to their doom! Looking good BBB.
  8. Thanks Tommer, Nepia, Davis and Penfold - means a lot guys!
  9. Just come back from my ‘Saturday afternoon, seeing the children’ and guess what? Life sucks! All I have to look forward to is my ‘Sunday afternoon, seeing the children’ and then after that I’m looking forward to the next Saturday and so-on and so-forth. If any of you guys ever feel tempted to stray – DON’T! It really isn’t worth it. I’ve been living this life for over three years now and it never gets easier, in fact it gets worse! Guilt is one of the strongest of emotions – it eats into your very soul, consumes everything you once were and takes no prisoners. I’m not looking for sympathy, far from it – just want to get the message across – when that temptation comes – go climb a tree, go for a run, take a cold shower, do anything but don’t give in to it. I wouldn’t wish my life on anyone at the moment, especially any fellow Arbs. Keep safe brothers.
  10. I’m not sure you’ll find figures on fuel economy for chippers – would be interesting to find out though. My BC100XL costs over £100 to fill up and lasts a surprisingly long time! I’ll make a note of the hours next time I fill up. Guess it all depends what your chipping and how heavy your working the engine…
  11. If I were you I’d get back there either early morning or evening with a good quality camera as that would make a magnificent picture! There is so much power and drama in that picture – superb
  12. What’s the coppice Steve? How long has it lapsed?
  13. You think thats old-school...? I used to use a T23! Still got it somewhere - I think we should start a retro movement.
  14. I like it, I like it!!
  15. See what happens over the weekend, I'll post some pictures of the trees I have in mind early next week. Like I said, I dont mind travelling if Worcester is a no-go.
  16. Midlands Get Together... Just thought I’d test the water and see if any midlanders are feeling sociable now that summer is nearly here. It would be good to get together, either over a drink or two or even meet up for a bit of recreational tree climbing. One idea I’ve had in my head for a while is a ‘Picnic in the Park’. We have some lovely formal parks here in Worcester, with trees that are crying-out to be climbed. (I’ll post some pictures of them if anyone is interested). It could be a family orientated ‘do’ as there is a nice children’s play area, stream, pond and plenty of ducks to feed! Anyway, like I said – just testing the water. If anyone else has a good location in the Midlands area I’d be up for a meet – always good to meet-up and have a natter! If you like the idea if a family day with some tree climbing in a lovely location I’ll see if I can get the necessary permissions etc.. Cheers, John.
  17. I don’t think you should name and shame on here until you hear the full story from said accused. I’m not condoning this sort of behaviour (and if the old lady was ripped off then they deserve an empty order book for years to come)
  18. That was a pleasure to watch Tim. Love the soundtrack – What/who is it??
  19. Ever heard of Oak Apple Day??
  20. Thanks for the info. I've found a rifle Advertised as a Mk2, but it didn’t mention professional. Did they make a Mk2 ‘none professional’ model? I’m also in a dilemma as to what to get….177 or .22 (I see myself target shooting more than killing fluffy bunnies) Cheers for your help..
  21. This is just too much ‘Gun-Porn’ for one evening – Going to have to take a cold shower lol ! I’ll pop over and have a look at the Logun at the weekend. It’s a lot of money for what it is but I do like well-made, precision bits of kit – maybe it’s the 235MX of the air-gun world!?
  22. Sorry, couldnt resist!! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UbtcmjfKa8]YouTube - Monty Python-The knights who say Ni!![/ame]
  23. Nothing very interesting this week apart from being attacked by seagulls while trimming back some Norway maples in the high street. We did these trees 3 years ago with 6 aluminium poles and a pole-pruner – This year we’ve got the MEWP on the job, so much easier!
