  1. Mate, like I said earlier – I’d divide the prize and share it with my Arbtalk buddies (everyone on this thread anyway) Haha. Its never going to happen anyway, but its taken my mind off a few things – bit of light relief (makes a change from the other kind)
  2. be a cold day in hell............ .......but you never know!
  3. Funny you should say that..... .....if its where I think it is, access via Dunstall Common?
  4. You want to sell those to the press mate - make a few bob!
  5. You forgot the ‘Principle of the Minimal Lever-Arm’ Bundle my Boy.
  6. Just filling in the final load of paperwork for the ‘event’. July 11th it is!! Obviously if the weather is awful then we’ll postpone to another date. John.
  7. ] Scott, at the risk of sounding really dumb........Whats 'blue steel'??
  8. Best have a full-body wax too! Oh-No, what have I got myself into??!! Haha, just read it - Nice one buddy!
  9. Oh dear, I'm dropping Dont think we can keep this going for another week! Think I'd better move a-side and let the Italian Pretty Boys win.
  10. Well done Nick, it'll be nice to see everyone involved this year!
  11. Currently on 77% thanks to Arbtalk – Cheers fellers! I’m officially the only UK Arborist being represented in the competition (I think!). Got to keep this up for 2 more weeks…….! Here is the link again…. Willkommen auf der Webseite Police Faces
  12. Under 750KG's ? That'll sell really well!
  13. Thats never going to happen Mark, but if it did I'd divide the money between everyone who voted. Have an Arbtalk-Party!!
  14. You do have a point there! But what the hell - I'll put mine on when I win!
  15. I'm as mad as a hatter at the moment Mozza! Cheers for your vote!!
  16. A while ago I bought some Police sunglasses and got entry into a competition. The prize is a contract modelling Police Sunglasses. Now I know I don’t stand a cat-in-hells chance of winning because there are 1000’s of ‘pretty boys’ entered, but it would be a laugh trying…….! Willkommen auf der Webseite Police Faces Click on the link and vote for Mr Hancock The more votes I get the less chance a 'Pretty-Boy' will win. – and don’t worry, it doesn’t make you gay or anything. lol. Cheers, John.
  17. You pay your money and anyone can turn up, as far as I know. It’s up to the tutors at the interview stage to assess the candidates for suitability. Obviously if Billy Bunter turned up wanting to become an Arborist I’d hope he’d be persuaded to follow a different career path. However colleges are very keen to fill those places, if they don’t; they get their funding cut. The armed forces are having problems with recruitment selection at the moment. The ‘Play-Station’ generation are simply not as fit and healthy as we were in out youth and I think there is no simple solution. The way I look at tree work is that you should expend the least amount of effort for the maximum amount of gain. It’s more about technique rather than brute force, and if colleges introduced a fitness test for candidates there probably wouldn’t be many candidates.
  18. Hiya guys, I’m finding increasingly difficult to establish good communication between operator and grounds-man while using the MEWP. Does anyone out there use helmets with 2-way radio systems fitted? If so what do you recommend? Blue-tooth would be another good option so I can hear the dog and bone. Cheers chaps.
  19. Think I'll be taking my sleeping bag and be folding the seats down in the Discovery!
  20. Not long to go now!! We’re saving our tips up now……..(should be enough for a cup of tea!) Anyone heard a long-range forecast for June? Where is every one staying…..? (I’m prob taking a sleeping bag and wing-it on the night)
