  1. Peter depending on what size your looking for fountains up in the north had some tool safes that came out of the back of a load of hilux and l200 sat about which i think they were trying to get rid of these were if you can picture it the same size square as an hilux back and the same hieght as a truckman top, they had two sliding draws one for chainsaws and one for climbing gear or put it another way enough room for 4 mens gear for the day, the draws both lock and the boxes were bolted to the van floor so could be bolted to a garage floor, if your intrested let me know and i will pm you a contact no:wave:
  2. CYCLING,CYCLING AND CYCLING TRYING TO KEEP WIEGHT DOWN FOR KART RACING:wave:
  3. I have 4 day and carry basic kit on harness plus 4man kit in van, though I am now a loan worker (the delights of been a pen pusher) we also used to keep a list of any allergies, special requirements for each emloyee.
  4. that would br great, if you don't mind I would like come along and if any body from the north east wants a lift down from catterick area there is a crew cab to fill.
  5. Apologies if the point came across wrong, what I was trying to get across is there is obviously a good reason for these trees to come down and someone is putting some effort into sharing the experiance with others and recording it for use in the future. The reason for mentioning the utilities sector was because the chap seemed to just about slate every sector in the workplace apart from utilities.
  6. Suppose your not to struck on line clearance,Rail work or any other utility works that take place across the country either ?
  7. Paddy and Murphy are sat in the pub and the barmaid mentions there both getting a bit of a belly, they decide it's time for a bit of exercise, the barmaid says the best form is dancing . They decide to make a list of differnt types and decide which they like as they try them over the next few weeks. Following night they both stagger into the bar torn to shreds clothes hanging of them blood every were, Paddy turns murphy and says rioght we can knock the bloody lion dancing of the list:wave:

  9. old work mate lived there and used to say it was the lesbian capital of the uk "unfortunatly not the same ones as you see those educational videos":D
  10. I spent about 18 months working in Keighley and hebden Bridge area do ing line clearance for fountains on YEDL powerlines (LV), most of this work was roadside involving either closures or stop and go boards, my self and the one of my teamleaders had to go on the chapter 8 course but beaware there is two parts and I cant for the life of me remember the codes but one allows you to set it up and the other to supervise but the superviser is not allowed to set up the site. If you go on the course you will be issued with the red book and this lays out all the different site set ups in diagram form.
  11. when and where did you work on nedl mate was it for the green or blue:wave:
  12. were on the case with the army camp at present and with a local estate in the dales.
  13. The wife was diagnosed with this about a year ago, she eats plenty of cooked liver, drinks tonic wine and has iron supplement pills from the chemist, if your taking the tablets allways have them with a meal best if you have them with fish or something along those lines as the oils break down the tablet into your body, if you just take the tablets on the go with out digesting any food they just pass straight through doing no good. ps don't drink the tonic wine in half pints as i did, hangovers a :vollkommenauf:killer
  14. this may as far as Iknow somwere near to inverness:icon14:

  17. Never ever get bored of just climbing, even go up to Scotland once a year to climb for the Scottish branch of the arb assoc ( payement for this is a warm meal and nights accomidation). Sad I know
  18. Were hoping to get into the outdoor pusuits, but at present were struggling top find an ideal location either good sized wood with some nice mature beech or oak, or a few decent trees in a field, prevably in north yorkshire or county durham.
  19. Just looking at the NPTC site for some information and noticed there appears to be a new schedule for CS46 Pollarding, on looking at this it does'nt appear any different to CS39, surely this could of been added into the CS 39 sylabus. I fully agree with training and think on whole the NPTC training is the way forward for all with in reason, but surely this is just extorion of money from people when the actual courses are basicaly just the same.:cussing:
  20. looks better than even using old throtle cables from the bike in the strimmer head:stupido2:
  21. where would you send gear to exactly
  22. going along the same lines i worked i n a a local quarry many years ago when all this european cr**p first raised its head, they first picked on the sizing of stone which had to become metric and not be sold in imperial sizes even though it went over the wiegh bridge in tons not tonnes, the final straw was the crusher run which used to be called quarry waste and was sold to surface local farm roads and yards etc, we were not allowed to call it waste any more because we would of been deemed to making money out of waste. to come to the point ours is not the only industry to suffer and will not be the last.
  23. Was that on the rail.
  24. Several places i have worked at and this has always reared it's head, can we use equipment from the states over here even though it is not CE stamped etc, I know were I work it is not allowed if not stamped even though it has it's own countries approval. The main reason for this is we have seen some saddles in the states for a business venture we are looking to set up between two of us but are concerned that the insurance would be void if the equipment is not to european standards e.g.CE stamp and how we would stand regarding the HSE. would really be gratful for any guidance or advice:confused13:
  25. Thanks, were going to try and tie in some other things at the same time if we can and make a full package fore the day e.g outdoor skills
