  3. i thought it was just me! i have tingling in hands also. not every night ..but more often now than before. I have really fecked up wrists also. and have 0 flexability in them, and my fingers are starting to close inwards. to much grabbing rope and time at gym i think. or prob to much typing on arbtalk.

  6. because ..they are type of -people that think trees surgeons are like gardeners and were in complete shock when i told them the price..the tried to offer me less for the job . I am a to nice sometimes so ..luckily my ruthless groundsmen jumped in and told them to pay up !

  8. I done it in 2.5 hrs and left everthing on site for them to tidy. charged £350. how much would you have charged?
  9. also the blue ropes you see are not mine. it was the foriegn guys attempt to hold the tree in place while felling it.
  10. whats that? I was tied into a un-cut stem.
  11. this is a pic boot afterwards. I had slightly hit my boot while cutting firewood. ( completely my own stupidity )..but the aqua fells did not protect my foot. i just nicked my big toe..and just lucky
  12. the last pic doesn't do it justice to its size..add about another 25ft on that. Right over the street lights. Man i am still pissed at them!
  13. Heres the story. I was called out to a emergency job about 1 month ago. the costumer calls me at 4pm on a friday..saying she has a branch that has fallen down and is leaning over a busy road. i give a estimate over the phone. I get there are there is this large tree that 2 foreign guys have tried to cut down with an electric chainsaw. I ask the owner what happened and she tells me that she asked them to prune the tree and they misunderstood her ( bullshit ! ) Well the police turned up to shut off the road as the tree was leaning over electric lines. And then the truth came out..the asain owners had already had the tree officer out who told them the could n ot touch the tree. So they went and got hold of some cheap workers and asked them to remove it...then acted like they only told them to prune the tree. to top it off..they argued about the price after i reisked my neck to get it down safely. can see the nice cuts they used to fell the tree. I told them they can get rid of the timber and branch work themselves . frickin idiots
  14. good for bugs and animals right!...but we are in the tree care industry..what about the tree??
  15. and yes i would rather have something stiff and rigid..that i can kick tree stumps with. steel toe is the way to go..it has been proven.
  16. nice vid! I cut my aqua fells with a 017 stihl the other day. baby chainsaw! cut right through and sliced my big toe!..just nipping the skin. works under controled enviroment in a test..but different in real life mate!
  17. about 8 years. worked in the states for over 3 yrs
  18. I woke up this morning after doing large removal...job went smoothly . done some speed lining to get it down. Anyone else have dreams about doing tree work often. ? or is it just me that is pure mental!? Must be the only sado that gets all excited of doing big trees the night before.
  19. Nice!!! I am going to try this. cheers!
  20. yeah thats true. but..i have just recently told the guy that i have worked a lot for and who gives me a lot of work..to get stuffed!...even though i really need the work. To much pressure to complete jobs in impossible time. ( maybe you have to much pressure on your sub-contract climber and thats why he made mistake ?) I need the work..but i am finnished of cutting corners to complete jobs...i want to keep my arms! was climbing a bit like this...even though i knew it was very dangerous. [ame] [/ame]
  21. don't have much idea about how to prune them correctly..but i can tell you watch what you are tied into...large limbs just seem to break of at random form my experience.
  22. yeah i have bust a couple of things before as a subbie..just because i was under pressure to complete jobs in impossible time ( don't work for that guy anymore...but i did go back and fix things as it is the subbies responsibility.
