  1. yeah i think it is far stronger than the d ring that comes wioth the tree motion,.
  2. i also noticed when using the tree motion...when you need to double crotch and you have 2 karabiners in the green sliding D.they can sometimes get jammed...pushing together...which scares the crap out of as i am sure the sliding D is about to shatter. would using 2 of these be better. ? a karabiner in each?
  3. could'nt agree more. love the tree motion.
  4. I have had tree motion for sometime now...and i am away to replace bridge. ..but it is not the bridge that i do not trust..its the small green sliding D . just seems to light and fragile. is there any other sliding D rings that are similar to the tree motion one..but larger and tougher.? Cheers
  5. been sitting here with small rope learning new knots. Very good website ..because it is animated and teachs you step by step. http://www.animatedknots.com/
  6. I remember seeing someone do this before.! Good idea .
  7. Thats so frickin cool!: cool1:
  8. yeah it makes you strong when you start out..up to a point!..but only is certain muscle groups. you need a gym to counter the effects of cabolitism ( break down of muscles due to over training ) or doing the same reps everyday. runners have stron legs for running..and the run everyday...but not for maximum lifting ..like strongmen. understand
  9. ok APF ...GOT IT!
  10. what do you mean wait till the APF? sorry little slow tonight
  11. where can i order those from?
  12. thanks i will check them out. I also have some probs with my feet from bad footwear.
  13. I take it that you can not get them in the u.k. Oh well..that sucks!
  14. need new boots. whats the best arborist boots?
  15. they are real tough boots though..and good for climbing. unless you really care how you look when you are climbing ??
  16. ha,ha ..only on the weekends though!
  17. tree worlk doesn't really make you stronger. It is endurance that you get from it. You have to fight the effects of getting weaker from tree work by going to the gym and doing strength training. Also about 90% of arborists i have met smoke.
  18. RED WINGS are also good boots. But much more expensive than Dawgs. http://workingperson.com/large_image_popup.php?prod_id=2036&angle=inside
  19. yeah i agree looks like a date palm. I worked on these all the time in San diego REAL NASTY !
  20. how many begginer climbers do you see climbing a tree with out even looking for the best anchor point. I have had couple climbers climb half way up the tree and Just start pruning from there. good anchor point = easier climb
  21. instead of 1 ton bags ..use old bedsheets!..means you can rake onto them also. cheap and works
  22. they are steel toed, have steel shank at bottom for support, good quailty leather ..and if you take into consideration that i am looking for new boots as i nicked my aquafells with a 017 and it cut right through them just missing my toe..then eu/uk standards don't mean S...to me anymore
  23. No. its what all the Americans use as far as i know. buckingham spikes are designed to fit nicely with them.
  24. I am sick of the cheap and nasty tree workers boots in the u.k. ...I want a real tough boots.... And i remembered when i worked in states everyone had red dawgs..and all i heard was good stuff about them. I can not find any in the u.k though..and i do not want to order from the U.S.A ..because i like to get exact fit. Does anyone know where i purchase them in the u.k? http://www.baileysonline.com/itemdetail.asp?item=53803+7D&catID=573
