  1. Glad you’re enjoying it. The rest of us haven’t got a clue what you’re on about most of the time.
  2. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy using the 500i. Just the 400 has a lot more WOW factor. Use one and you will see what I mean.
  3. Real answers and worthwhile feedback from real workers. Not just insta fan boys going on about a product in every post in order to get free shit. I prefer the real world.
  4. Is it not just fungi living on the dead matter of a previously removed tree?
  5. That floating pair of loafers/handbag looked more curious than dangerous. Those blokes wouldn’t have been anywhere near the water if it had been a Saltie.
  6. It is more than likely a Freshie or Australian Fresh Water Crocodile. Not particularly dangerous to humans apparently. Freshwater crocodile - Wikipedia EN.M.WIKIPEDIA.ORG
  7. Put some petrol in the oiler and blow out thoroughly to clean and then test to make sure it’s flowing. I worked at one firm where 4 of the 5 had the problem you describe. The 5th one had an exhaust mod. It never got clogged. My theory is that the mod either gives the saw a bit more torque and/or chain speed. Either way, it seems to clear the debris better when compared to standard. I have 2 150t’s that have been modded and they rarely clogg up in the same way.
  8. The 500i is a nice saw and does the job but try a 400. Ok, different class of saw and a replacement 362. But that saw punches well above its weight. Well balanced and is great to use up a tree. I would rate it as having a higher wow factor than the 500i. ... and yes, I have used both extensively.
  9. Did you get it going Mike?
  10. No worries. I had gathered that. Plus you mention Jerome had told you.
  11. Is that not a justified reason to be more careful with staff selection? Or reason to blame it on the manufacturer? That example is like blaming Audi for the wife curbing my wheels the A6, FFS and on the morning I just sold it... To make matters worse, my Tesla won’t arrive for 3 weeks. Audi are the worst!
  12. Did you hear the one about the dyslexic, agnostic, insomniac? He would lie awake every night pondering the existence of Dog.
  13. They are all ‘Monkey Hangers’ any way.
  14. As Joe said. I tend to just work off a base anchor but if i feel the need, get to top and pull some slack through device. Just enough to tie alpine on the base tie leg. I use the Quickie these days as it is less bulky. Cinch it back up and carry on working as before. Ive never messed about with cambium savers for srt. Although I can see how it retrieves pretty well but too much of a fanny on for me. KISS.
  15. I have 200, current value 35 ish p. So 70 quid
  16. i still can't get into my old wallet. never mind it was only about 80 quids worth
  17. I can see you point about the wages. I started on 43 pound a day and had to get my own PPE out of that. That was a few years ago though. I think you need to change your mindset a bit. You say you want to climb? The best groundies are lads who can climb imo and the best climbers are people who have done their time on the ground. Instead of thinking about how hard you are working and what you are getting paid every month. Appreciate the point that other people have already brought up about lack of experience etc. Look at it as though you are getting paid in valuable experience. You are learning to do the job from the ground up and have a goal to become a climber. It just so happens that they are paying you 18 g a year for the opportunity to learn. If you stick at it and keep your head down. Every day is a learning day, even if you just learn how not to do something, you will be a better person for it. The money will come with experience. Is your glass half full or half empty? Change the way you think about your situation and everything will be ok. Good luck.
  18. Mackenzie?
  19. Nice. I take it you are in Oz with a setup like that?
  20. That book was written 10 years ago. The 1st of May 2021 was 2 days ago.
  21. Genius
  22. Reminds me of my dad in the 70's and 80's. Numerous Maxwell House coffee jars, each with different types of screws, nuts, bolts, washers etc. I used to think it was a bit excessive. I am 47 this year, I now know where he was coming from.
  23. I test drove one here as my lease was up. Lovely truck and drove well, bags of power. I ended up buying my 2018 model off dealer for the time being but will get the 2.8 in time.
  24. What’s up? Flux capacitor gone again?
