My understanding was that tacho's are only ever used with an o-licence? How else can there use be policed?

Don't think your right, the chipper manufacturers have gone to great lengths to probuce chippers that are 750kg as this is the weight you can pull behind a 3.5 tonner and not need tacho and o-licence.

I know a guy who was driving a 7.5 tonner and pulling a 3.5 ton trailer both were empty.He was stopped and done for not having a HGV licence and as he had not got the correct licence his insurance was invalid,so he got done for no insurance. I was shocked as the whole rig was empty and would of weighed 5.5 tons if weighed,but the police said its the plate weight that matters.

I would tend to feel the inflation is out weighed by the fact that they are committing to you for some time which means you are able to plan better and you will not need to advertise as much for new work.

If your towing a tw190 you NEED a o-licence! even if the trany is empty, its plated weight that they go off.

Very true! if you ask the average urbanite if they like trees they will usually come out with the all to often heard "I like trees.................................BUT" followed by the reason these trees need to go,it is I feel a form of NIMBYism.And very sad.

I am a tree surgeon I mainly do autopsies. Do a bit of everything,but has others have said its hard get people to spend on maintenance. In my case most of the tds are not trees of great value,they are usually,deceased or damaged or just poor specimens.

I've used mine for the last couple of days and I am very,very pleased so far,not done a big tree yet,but a few standard tds. I have been using a butterfly for the last 3years+ and liked the freedom of movement,but found it a little uncomfortable when spiking(side Ds digging in)and sitting for an time(leg loops cutting of circulation) the EKN seems to have solved both issues. The build quality is very good,reminds me of my old skybelts but much more comfort and freedom. Well pleased so far. Thanks for the recomendation Reg, I have 2 as new harnesses hung up in the shed,bought at various APFs and found not to suit my stile of climbing or body shape.

It make me really angry when people like you make excuses for the way "scum" behave, if its all down to society why do so many of use manage to behave in a decent fashion? There have aways been "scum" since the dawn of time.And if you like your bible go have a look,satan?suppose God had brought in capitalisam? Cain? was Able a tory?I could go on and on. You can blame the parents or the schools or the government,but we all Know YOU choose how YOU behave no one else. And for the record I have no time for religion,I do the right thing because I want to and not out of a fear of punishment or hope of heavenly reward. Religion has been the way smart people controlled stupid people down through time.Science has happily free even the most feeble minded from the trap of religion if they wish to be free.
