  1. I thought maybe, find out who wants to come, see where we all are and try to go somewhere central or nearer the majority?
  2. The thing is "waste" must be one of the highest taxed things there is, so there should be plenty money for some real enforcement of the law, fly tipping IS an ILLEGAL offense already.
  3. This intrigues me, please explain how the piece of paper prevents ANY fly tipping I really don't get it ?????? But I don't carry waste any way so not my problem, I suppose.
  4. Would any of the Northwest Group fancy a few pints somewhere, in this festive season???????
  5. I see! So should a shop owner ask the good paying customers to pay for a scheme to try to catch shop lifters?
  6. Stihl here...................................of course.
  7. Also Dean, for the road tax you do get "a ROAD" which I think is a good thing!! What exactly do you get for the waste carriers license? NOWT:mad1:
  8. OK point taken. I will rephrase my statement, Much of that equipment would struggle to earn its living in a truly commercial situation. Much of the work you mention above is very heavily subsidized.
  9. I very much doubt, that many of these machines have to earn their keep, more of a rich mans play thing.
  10. I know a lad who, while working on railway clearing, took a clean nappy with him on his way to the site, on his own, he chewed up a mars bar spat it onto the nappy and then dropped the nappy by the side of the track. As they all walked back off site he picked up the nappy and started eating! You can imagine their faces!!!!!!
  11. It can be very funny IF its done in the right spirit and only to some one who will take it in said spirit. But as some have said it can easily become an excuse for cruelty.
  12. After reading most of these I am so glad I don't work with many of you!!!!!!!!!!
  13. I can honestly say that in 14+ years in business I have NEVER used a skip.
  14. I just carry on!!, but just make sure you don't drop owt on the tit!
  15. ADHD what a load of rubbish PPP more like "piss poor parenting". Or SOAGH "short of a good hiding"
  16. Here you go the fire box is 4 foot wide and 6 foot deep.
  17. I don't have an accumulator tank, but they are very simple. You just get a large tank, 1000L or 2000L and insulate it with rock wool or the like.
  18. Mine is a bit big really, its 500,000 BTU's or 150 KW hours, I have 16 radiators and live in a very big, very old single glassed house, with almost no insulation. I burn mostly green wood, fuel it once a day, and can burn 3-4 ton a week when its cold. My house was very damp when we moved in, I had the boiler going 24/7 for 3 years, now its bone dry and I only get the boiler going when its cold.
  19. Do it Ed, it not been above freezing out side all day here, and one of my boys asked it he could open a window!! its toasty!!
  20. I have no objection to my road tax as I DO USE THE ROAD. I don't want or need a waste carriers license as I DO NOT CARRY WASTE. It really is very simple.
  21. Ed, you need to leave off the strong cheese in the evening!!
  22. You misunderstand me, I am saying I would not have hit him, as he would have then had a counter claim against me. I would have collected all the evidence and brought about his financial ruin, that would hurt him far more and for much longer than a hiding. He should be inside for that !!what a moron!
  23. Maybe YOU do. I've read this http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk...34884/1721340/ I DON'T! Don't be fooled into think that the envo staff or the police know their stuff, they often don't, make sure they SHOW you the legislation they say applies to you. I'll never forget a poor bloke on the TV he was stop by the police for riding a race motor bike home from a race meet without lights, the rider told the copper he did not need them as it was not dark. The copper would not have it, he got some social police bod to drive miles to come and have a look. The expert agreed with the rider, but by then it was going dark, so he had to get someone to come with a bike trailer to pick him up and copper didn't even say sorry!!!!!!!!
