  1. True! but if you encounter a problem you cannot just pullover
  2. Only if you do hedge "trimming" or landscaping. Tree work and hedge "reductions" are fine, maybe the customer could let you put "clippings" in their green wheelie bin.
  3. Er! OK, so you think flying is no more technical/dangerous than driving?? If your not trying to imply that one is more "elite", it would be better to use a different analogy, IMO.
  4. Always makes me laugh when they don't turn in Monday, make no contact, but come in Tuesday as if nothing happened ! And look all hurt when you tell them they are no longer required!
  5. As ever with this incompetent government, they are doing as little as possible so they can "say" they've done something, without thinking through the cost of implementation. They just rush to do "something" and have no clear sense of direction.
  6. Go here and read it,http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/subjects/waste/1019330/1334884/1721340/ "virgin timber" is not waste as long as its going to be used for mulch or bedding, etc.
  7. Hi Tom, It has 14M reach to the side and 58ft straight up! Great tool!.
  8. Oh Yes! I sold a chipper also! Another thankyou!
  9. Should this thread not be quarantined? If I catch something from it, I'll not be happy!
  10. Very much depends on the individual case, IMHO. But I do know were your coming from.
  11. I have not asked for work though the forum, but have made good contacts and had three good jobs from people on here. Thanks to them! and this excellent forum!
  12. Agree Mike!! I would only do something like this if it was local and I knew where and to who the wood was going. To be honest we have a very good welfare state and the only people going cold are those to proud or not capable of claiming, if you know of some one who is struggling, try to make sure they are claiming all they should and point out that they are not getting a hand out, by calming, but are merely receiving a return on the "insurance policy" they or their husbands paid into during their working life.
  13. er? if you say "most" have been struggling, then "some" most not be struggling, so if they say there doing OK, they are not liars! surly?? I've had a very good year, had more work than I could cope with much of the time, I did notice a real dip in calls during all the media hype, but never ran out of work and then it picked up again.
  14. Very, very good news! Sounds promising, but still a very upsetting post to read. I wish you all the very best Chris!
  15. I must get some new tyres for the mog too, I can see from your shots that there rather "slick"!
  16. LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice one David!! Its the Ivy thats scaring me I've never seen any that size before
  17. Now WHO'S being greedy?
  18. No! Keep saying when it goes quite we'll cut fire wood, but its not been quite yet. I have sold a lot in lengths over the years to fire wood men. But I'm hanging on to most of it at the moment as with the threat of a slump I may want to cut and sell it myself.
  19. We had TM provided by the LA they set up the system, and their was one of them at each side to escort people past!! The highway man ignored them, went straight for me and gave me a real verbal battering:confused1:
  20. Because if you start to discuss a dispute that you have with the seller, we have no way of knowing if what you tell us is the FULL story and when the sell responds we don't know if they are being totally honest either. As we do not know ALL the facts of the case we cannot make a decision on who is at fault, so it just becomes a slanging match that helps no one. I'm sorry you had a bad experience, but its not going to be resolved by posting on here.
  21. I did that once, and highways guy came, stopped the job and gave me a right bollocking and said "whats a blind person supposed to do?"
  22. Whats wrong with a bit of topping??
