  1. Very good point! Very well put!
  2. Two Paracetamol and as much water as you can stomach, before you go to bed, then a berger or bacon butty in the morning.
  3. Good bit bigger than mine and with the addition of a fly jib and winch, which will make it far more versatile than mine. I would have got something like that, but it would weigh far to much for me, I need to still have capacity too carry the timber home.
  4. I take it thats why you call yourself "the cowboy", a £1500 transit ain't gonna look very pro . And having to go say 30 miles home to get his landy, pull his heap out, then take his landy home, then come back for the heap, sounds like a PITA to me
  5. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/climbers-talk/6321-new-haix-climberboot.html
  6. The AA would seem the perfect venue! We will have already bought our tickets
  7. Up here they seem to love Copper Beech ?
  8. But they did, and they didn't
  9. Where are you based? Do you have a cabstar?
  10. You did a very, very good job! Cannot have been easy.
  11. That crane if fantastic!! Nice job!!
  12. I have a letter from the tax man, stating that my work is classed as agricultural and that I am not subject to the scheme. I just send a copy of the letter with my RA and MS when working for construction firms.
  13. A method statement is what it says on the tin, a statement of the way you are going to carry out the task. Are you going to fell it in one?, dismantle with rope and harness?, use a MEWP?, will brash be chipper, burnt or carted away?, etc. Normally a MS is required at the quoting stage, so it allows the client to better compare contractor quotes. Contractor "A" may be cheaper, but he is going do it in a way that will take longer and cause some land damage. Where as contractor "B" is a little more expensive, but is going to get it done quicker with less potential damage. It also means that if you have submitted a MS that states you are going to do the job a certain way, you should not then take short cuts.
  14. RUBBISH!!! May not be a style YOU like, but nothing wrong with it.
  15. I don't think any one is saying those with lower intellects should not receive help. But not all people who struggle with literacy have dyslexia. Dyslexics tend to be of average IQ or higher.
  16. They look great! Are you sure your a "firewood man"?
  17. Err...........look at the picture, its not reached the end of life line on the blade, so whats the problem?
  18. Spot on Mark! Of course in our PC mad world no one is allowed to be just "thick", there has to be some identifiable disorder, so they can give them a label. Some people are much less intelligent than others, thats just the way life is. I remember working with a lad years ago, we were clearing up after a TD. I was sweeping and he was shoveling the bits into a barrow. He left the barrow several meters away and as he was carrying each shovel full of muck to the barrow, he was dropping bits all over were I had swept. In my frustration I said "you can move the barrow further away if you like" I turned round ans blow me, he HAD moved the barrow further away:blink:
