  1. How many firms have 5 crews? MOST tree firms are one man bands.
  2. Yes, but once the truck is full, its full. So an extra half hour snedding don't really matter. Whats the point of getting the job done half an hour earlier if your full anyway and can't do another job?
  3. New gives you peace of mind, a warranty with good after sales service is a REAL selling point, IMO.
  4. When you think about your average tree firm, they tend to use 3.5ton pickups, they don't take long to fill with chip. If a more expensive chipper filled it 10 minuets quicker, would it be worth the expense?
  5. Yes, are you saying TW are "crap"? If so you are talking rubbish. I have a PTO Schiesling, would I change it for a TW? NO. Do I know loads of lads that have them and love them? YES. If you are saying TW are crap, why are they SO popular?
  6. I think value for money is the thing! Are TW the best chipper out there? NO! Are they the best value for money? PROBABLY!
  7. I find the best way to keep dry on wet days............. is to stay in the house!!
  8. Mr Coats seems to know plenty.
  9. I use dead eye strop's, like the ones you get for attaching a large pulley for rigging. And slings, never use chain's.

Anyway, according to your lass they don't work.
  11. I'm about half way between you and Stevie, I'll TRY and translate, lol!!
  12. Just because some one does not know the name of the cut, doesn't mean he doesn't know the cut He probabley uses these cuts every day! Why not just explain the cut? Its hardly rocket science, although when you look at the cost of the courses you'd think it should be!!
  13. I've always put it down to the increased moisture in the cambium, during the growing season, meaning the bark is less well attached, your spikes are basically small wedges, the point goes in the as the thicker shank follows it opens up the split. When the sap is up I also find that bark knocks of much easer when the logs hit each other when chogging down.
  14. When I was a subbie climber, I almost never saw the tree or trees until the day of the job. And even now I have clients that give me work that I just go and do, you can waste a lot of time looking at work.

Err......what about feed back? Its easy to see what kind of person your dealing with and if you pay with pay pal your protected. We have done literally hundreds of transactions on ebay and never had any problems. In fact on the occasions where there could have been a problem I have been amazed with the response of the seller. Had a laminatore arrive in bits, sent the seller an email and he just sent another (didn't even want the bust one back) On the odd occasion item have not arrived I have emailed the seller and they have just send another
  16. That is the MAIN THING!!!! Nothing worse than a climber turning up and saying its "unclimbable" Not happened to me, as I do all my own climbing, but I know guys its happened to and its always the one's who tell you how great they are that can't cut it!
  17. True, buts whats your excess? £350? So a fencing panel could ruin your day. Just a thought
  18. Also, I think you may need to get out more!! .
  19. You could make them, but not sell them, they don't meet the latest emission legislation.

It's my draft, I only buy on ebay, not really done much selling. I aways ask for cash, sold a car (not on ebay) for £12.5K, got cash.
  21. You do know that Strawberrys don't grow on trees, don't you Dean?
