  1. REALLY!!!! do you have his number!!!
  2. Ah, the "Gypsy stick":sneaky2:
  3. The gob needed to be more "open", IMO. On a fell like that, I would not want the gob to close until it was completely over.
  4. IMO, Luck!!! I would have cut lower with a MUCH BIGGER gob. But "a miss is as good as a mile!" so you can take credit for a job well done!!
  5. LOL!!!!!!!!! its the future!!!!! that and NEW AIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. If I have loads of work, I get the job done a quickly and efficiently as poss, sub out the stump grinding, get trailers in to take away more timber, BUT if I had less work, I would do everything with just me and one man, minimize expenditure and maximize profit.
  7. As others have said, the paper work that comes with the bashlins says to file the inside edge only. I always assumed it is to make sure the point is always kept on the very out side edge of the gaff. It would be possible to end up with a sort of shoulder on the point that could mean they don't dig in just as well if your knee is to near the stem. But like you Steve, I have always done all three sides, just requires a little commonsense, IMO.
  8. Well done Mesterh!!! Interesting comp!, when there are over 3,000 members I wounder how some think there could be so few visitors??? I guess some think everyone who visits posts. Clearly there are FAR more people who just read.
  9. Citroen 2CV6 "Club" in yellow.
  10. That won't carry 20 to 25 tonne, unless its all wet Green heart or Lignum vita !!!!!
  11. :congrats: I can only add, that you really do have my heart felt thanks Steve!!
  12. I loved line clearance, but then I like clear parameters. I love take downs because you know when you've finished, with pruning jobs there is always the "can you just take a bit more off":mad1:. Line clearance is the same, once you have got the clearance, your done. But thats just me
  13. So its not a good idea to see what others think?? Not a good idea to see if there is new research that says something new?? Not a good idea to get a second opinion?? May as well quit the forum now
  14. I must be in some kind of time warp
  15. Have you an item number?, so we can take a look Or does the groundie have it??
  16. I would not want something to "BREAK":scared1: while I was using it!!!! SWL should be WELL UNDER any possible breaking stain, IMO.
  17. From miss use, yes. But if you do not have a marked SWL, how can you know if you are miss using it??
  18. Mine has a felt band round the filter, seems fine.
  19. Presumably you don't do LOLER??
  20. No mate, I've had one for 10 years too, without incident.
