  1. Some one bought it!!!!!! Hope it wasn't an overseas bidder.
  2. Is see your point to an extent and think its good that you have made it, however I think your use of the term "bully" is a major over reaction, here on AT we don't allow bullying and I really don't think there any going on. People have different ways of getting there point across, some are subtle, some are more straight talking and a bit blunt. You could be accused of "playing the victim", which is another method some use. We are all grownups in here and should just accept that we won't all agree all the time, lets not try and move to a situation where every one if weighing up every post they make for fear of offending some sensitive soul.
  3. Like I say "being there", you can't give "moral support" from your side of the TV screen or radio
  4. Don't wish to be pedantic, but unless you pay to see them or send them money through the post, you don't "support" them, you may be a fan, enjoy watching them and hope they do well, but your not supporting them. Really irritates me when people claim to be a Liverpool (or any other team) "supporter", I ask how often they go to their matches?? "Oh no I don't go to their ground, but I support them" no your a fan, not a "supporter".
  5. My neighbour is a farmer, he has always hated the subs and wishes they were scraped and just let the market sort itself out.
  6. He got £575,000, so not a bad few weeks work
  7. Must be easy then......................
  8. :confused1:What does this mean???????people seem to use it often as a come back and I still have no idea what they are trying to say??? Why not just email the guy say you are happy for the deal to go ahead if he can get cash to you some how and explain your concerns.
  9. Err excuse me, I think the buyer will feel he has lost out, he was probably all excited about getting his new project and for all we know may have missed some others thinking he was sorted.
  10. Sounds like your brakes worked just fine, stopping the wheels is their job (presuming its not ABS) Its either a tyre problem or driver error surly???
  11. I think that pic is enhanced, you look way worse in the flesh mate!!!
  12. People always complain about dodgy buyers, but it cuts both ways. Bit like "rouge traders" what about all the rouge customers??? He is having it "collected in person" by his "representative" Personally I think your out of line.
  13. The problem is there is a continual influx of these types, they come and they go, but there are aways new ones, they have always been there, but in these hard times people are more inclined to use them to save a few quid.
  14. Glad its not just me, I've done 1000's like that, get it cut and chipped on to the next job after lunch ( don't chip it I had no idea there were so many puffs on here )
  15. Because things have moved on and they need to learn all the new stuff
  16. In Scotland they have free universities and free health care for the elderly, they too are millionaires, just look at Stevie Blair.
  17. Not sure how that will work Mick. For example, I looked at a job last week, 2 medium Sycamores to remove, I quoted £500+VAT, she said that was good, because she had been quoted £550 by a council lad as a cash weekend job, she said she wanted a proper firm and would be in touch....................week later I call to see if my quote was of any use, "oh hi, sorry I did not get back in touch, a local lad is doing it for £300 and thats a massive saving for us, sorry" One of the problems with tree work is that a lot of people want to do it, they often have wives with good jobs or other sources of income, they often make nothing near a living wage, but don't even realise it.
  18. My Mrs buys most of our meat from the local butcher, he gets most of his meat from the fields I can see from my house. But our other stuff is mostly from the supper market. I don't see why the fact that you think farmers need help makes it OK?? IME if you give people the option of help they will take it, I personally think it would be better if farmers were left to survive or fail just like all other industries. It seems to me that if what you say is true, its the supermarkets that are being indirectly subsidised and I don't think they should be.
