  1. Just done my area, quoted 71.5 for 1000L, I only paid 69 from my regular supplier on Thursday.
  2. Yes I paid 17p a litre for the first lot I bought.
  3. Any one who tries to big themselves up by putting others down is pretty low in my book. If the thread has sensibly tried to examine why so new lads think they know more about the job than seasoned cutters, it could been a good the thread, its the old "experience verses qualifications" debate. But that thread was not about that, it was a "lets slag off new guys" thread, which IMO stinks!!!
  4. OUCH!!!!!!!! Thats nasty!! Hope you make a speedy recovery!!
  5. Cash arrived today mate!!! Also many thanks for the cigar!!
  6. Walk was completed yesterday. Went very well on saturday and sunday, did about 30 miles each day, weather was very good, with just a bit of rain for the last 5 miles on sunday. Monday was a very different day, shocking weather, but we had come too far to not finish, I'm relatively new to distance walking, I was only wearing cotton "T"shirts and cotton sorts, my water proof was only a cheap one and I was not wearing a hat. Long story short, we got finished, but I almost got hypothermia:blushing: I learnt a lot of lessens yesterday and will be investing proper good quality walking clothes in the future. We have so far raised over £3000!! which is fantastic!!! Massive thank you to all of you who contributed, I can guarantee that every penny will real help some one in real need!!!!
  7. Unfortunately some stove suppliers suggest that wood is free, I even saw one boiler maker advertising that you could get paid for taking timber off cuts:sneaky2:
  8. One last push to try and get a few more donations before we set out at 5am tomorrow. We have been training for the last few months, waking each weekend. The walk we are doing is 75miles, we are doing 30mile tomorrow, then two more days of 20+ miles. The money being raised will all go to the hospice, we are each paying our own costs for food and accommodation, so every penny raised will go to help people who really need help at a very tough time. Please if any one else could manage even a few pounds, it will make a real difference to people in who really need help. And to every one who has donated so far a massive thank you!!!!!!!!
  9. I've yet to meet anyone who has used a Schliesing and not found it to be one of the best chippers they have used.
  10. You need an "O" licence for a 7.5 tonner, so the only extra for a bigger truck is the licence, personally I'd get a HGV licence and get an 18 toner.
  11. No, they won't "take it", they expect you to load it onto their trucks, which is a real PITA, IMO.
  12. Thankyou boys really good of you both:thumbup1: We set a target of £1500 and are just short of a grand at the moment, so its looking good!!!!!!!
  13. Will do Tony, many thanks
  14. Husky have never made a decent top handle, they have always been pants. I guess thats why they are making such a meal out of releasing the 540, which is looking like a real winner.
  15. Three days mate, its 75 miles, we're doing 30 miles first day, then two days of 20+. Sleeping in bunk barns.
  16. Big thank you to the boss!! Many thanks Mr Bullman
  17. Thanks so much Robert, was great to catch up with you at the APF, your donation is very much appreciated mate
  18. Yes it went through, very much appreciated
  19. I think for me the bigger issue is loading, having to load the current buyers is a real PITA and kills any profit from the sale. If someone offered the same as the current guys (£6 to £8 per tonne) but had grab wagons that loaded themselves, that would be a real winner IMO.
  20. Thanks lads, my younger son is doing his Duke Of Edinburgh award and needs this info for a presentation.
