  1. I was not taking about the customer (although some may be tempted) If you were doing a job for a client and they told you they had had an unskilled task completed by some one using a specialist tool, the task had taken them 1 hour and they had charged £300, would you not be interested in what the task was and what the tool was? I would certainly be interested.

  3. One risk of charging top money for any service is that you could encourage some to compete. It would only take the customer to mention to the builder how much the grinding cost and how long it took, the builder may well think that he could buy a grinder, charge less and take most of your work. If you charge a "fair" price, most tradesmen would not be tempted, as they would not see it as easy money.
  4. Where are people getting this information about have to burn mature trees?? As far as I know the removals so far have all been saplings and young trees, which have been burned on site. The Larch that have been fell for decease control, the timber was removed from site.
  5. I will never understand the stance of people like you Tony You think its fine for some people to just take from the system, but are resentful of people who work hard generate income and do their best to hold on to as much of the income they have generated I have a simple rule in life, I ask myself "how would things be if every one did as I am doing" If every one was on benefits we would be finished, if every one worked hard but paid as little tax as they could, we would in great shape as a country.
  6. Benefit payouts will exceed income tax revenue - Telegraph More going out than coming in Tony, not what I would call a "small portion"
  7. But what about all the tax those on befits are not paying?????
  8. Santander give me the envelops by the hand full and the new cash machine actually gives you an envelop when you pay in. I like the fact that I can pay in when the bank is closed.
  9. Well as we are discussing tax, money is whats being discussed is it not can you pay your tax bill with quality time with your children or a happy marriage??
  10. Where is my violin I've been there and had the Tshirt Tony, but we lived within our means and stayed out of dept. No car, no carpets, no phone, heating from wood I cut, my wife baking bread as it was cheaper, getting veg from the farm next door that was actually animal feed. But I was not bitter and did not blame others, I just worked hard and found a way to improve my lot
  11. Do people not understand the word "anaesthetic":confused1: You cannot suffer while "anaesthetised" IMO, the only people who have the right to object to this are vegetarians, any meat eater who objects is simply a hypocrite.
  12. Utter cobblers!! They may pay a lower % than their cleaner, by incorporating, but in terms of real money they will pay far more than most. This is the problem with so many in the country they believe the headlines they read without checking the back story. How much VAT is their on a Range Rover Vogue , a lot more than the the tax paid by your average cleaner, income tax is not the only tax. The way many feel the need to find fault with those who succeed is really very sad I know why people do it, its an excuse for their own lack of success, they tell themselves that these others are only doing so well because the cheat the system, "if they payed proper tax like me, they would not be doing so well!!" But come on, if your paying £8K per year in tax and they are paying £50K, who's paying more tax??? OK £8K may be a 5th of your income and £50K may only be a 10th of their, but in real terms they are still putting more in the pot.
  13. Is it not clear Why should those who pay the most tax at least see something in return?? FC generats £millions in income, they should easily cover their own costs. OK you could up the cost of Opera tickets, but that would just make it even more elitist and those of most modest means would just be excluded further.
  14. I use high pressure grease in my chipper, I guess high speed would be better, but I have high pressure in the gun for the crane, so thats what it gets, its been on the same bearings for over 6 years, but I grease it several times per week.
  15. How much tax will the people in your average audience at the Opera pay?? How many people will their business employ?? How many privately educate their children and pay for private health care, while still paying NI , but hey lets not let them benefit in anyway from all the tax's they pay lets just keep giving more and more to the free loading spongers who spend their whole taking and never giving.
  16. Yes I would have cut a much larger gob, but then I would also have held the saw with hands its designed to be held with and would have wrapped my thumb around the handle. I found that video very uncomfortable to watch, but thats just me.
  17. I'm still fasting on the weekends, though when I do eat in the evening I do exceed the recommended 600 calories, but I'm still seeing good results my weight is down to around 12stone 8 pounds and I feel great!!
