  1. The plan is to identify the correct tree, its not always needed, if there is only one tree in the garden or it easy to describe its exact location there is no need for a sketch.
  2. I love the caps, just wish my 66 had them!!! I think its a bit of an intelligence test, over the years I discovered that the staff who can operate them work out to be great, those that can't are pretty useless all round. I showed my 17 year old son how you fit them correctly once and he's never had an issue.
  3. I wondered why so many of you climbed like girls, its all starting to make sense now
  4. You have serious skills to do that without spikes!!!!
  5. By definition, pollarding is tree mutilation.
  6. :001_rolleyes:No 5minuet job when fitting a new chain:001_rolleyes:
  7. That just part of fitting a new chain, file and turn the bar, 5minuets tops
  8. Its only ever had bars, chains, sprockets, brake handle and a repair from impact damage. TBH, other than the plug and filter what is there to service on a saw??
  9. Can't say I'm surprised, if you lived in the Outer Hebrides and had bought Stihl saws knowing you could get spares by mail-order, then the new policy would be a major headache.
  10. My 1999 066 is still running perfectly after 15 years of hard labour and attention only when its broken.
  11. Got to say I've not had any of the toilet or skin issues mentioned, I've only had positives.
  12. Thats a good spec, I like jobs like that
  13. You don't, that's why you use chain oil. I grease the ones with greasing points and not the ones that don't.
  14. I seem to recall that if its mostly leaf/needles, its waste, if its mostly wood (virgin timber, from branches etc) then its not waste.
  15. "Crown", get this quite often "I just want them all crowning"
  16. I have a letter from the tax office saying I'm except.
  17. I'm no expert, but I'll try and help, even numbers 1000,1200,1400,1600 are all small chassis square cabs, the number give an idea of horse power, i.e. 1000=100HP 1600=160HP. A 50 after the number denotes long wheelbase, i.e. 1650. Uneven numbers 1300,1500,1700,2100, are all larger chassis. There are many exceptions to the above, a 1300L is small chassis, my 1600 is 245HP (210HP from the factory), 2400 is a large chassis. Don't now if thats helped any or just cause more confusion
  18. Parsnips are fine, better than cheese:sneaky2:
  19. Will your tractor pull 13.5tons at 45 MPH, while carrying 3tons of chip?
  20. Versatility is the key My lad has set up this Facebook page, it shows our mog doing various stuff, snow blowing etc, he only did it last week so only a few bits so far. https://www.facebook.com/DandRtreeservices
  21. My worst year was £25K, my best £1,200.
  22. Yes lots, they are machines, you work them hard, they break or parts wear out, so they need fixing.
