  3. Apparently he had be diagnosed with Parkinson's, very, very sad.
  4. Here you go So much for global warming! 4 of the last 5 winters have been COLDER than average, reveals Met Office | Mail Online
  5. Why would they even end up in front of a magistrate?? surely it would be a fixed penalty. Do you have a link to a case of someone being prosecuted for 75 on the Mway??
  6. If the pub is VAT registered (which I would have expected all to be) it makes no difference to them wether you charge 5% or 20%.
  7. You can see where I live from my profile, unlike yourself. Of cause I'm talking relatively, but yes the 4 before the last one were much colder than any for the previous 30years, hence the death of so many eucalyptus, many of which were 30 years old.
  8. How do you work that out??? Of the last 5, 4 were very hard, 1 was very mild, so by the law of averages we a due another mild one.
  9. No motoring offences other than drink driving and dangerous driving are criminal offences, they are misdemeanours, however the money you pay the fine and increased insurance premiums with is very real.
  10. These cases must be pretty unusual or they simply would not be as popular as they are.
  11. You can "rationalised" all you like, but don't expect a police officer or magistrate to agree with your Rationalisations. Taken directly from the Highway code online:- 268 Do not overtake on the left or move to a lane on your left to overtake. In congested conditions, where adjacent lanes of traffic are moving at similar speeds, traffic in left-hand lanes may sometimes be moving faster than traffic to the right. In these conditions you may keep up with the traffic in your lane even if this means passing traffic in the lane to your right. Do not weave in and out of lanes to overtake.
  12. I'm pretty sure thats only the case if all lanes are full and your just maintaining your spot in your lane. If your in an lane with space in front of you and the car on your right is the same you will get done if the police see you.
  13. Thats quite a path you have traveled there Nev, really pleased you've turned things around and are doing so well, nice one!!!!!!
  14. Its fine, the child has his safety tracky bottoms and trainers on I see the adult is wearing PPE:sneaky2:
  15. I've been using saws for 25 years, my eldest son is 18, he first used a saw on his chainsaw course at the age of 17.
  16. I know you can retro fit springs to Disco 2 that are on air, but the early 2's had springs, the 3's never had springs, so I'm not sure how you could fit them???
  17. Its the best selling 4x4, so they most be pretty good.
  18. Disco 3 with no air suspension????
  19. I used to have handbrake issues (when it was serviced by the LR dealer) since changing to an independent, they clean the HB each service and I have no issues.
  20. There is a LR kit available for around £70, not many dearer know about it.
  21. As I posted earlier Jon, cam/timing belt is under £300. My air suspension compressor became weak, new one would cost over £600, but my mechanic (an independent) got a kit from LD, cost £150 including fitting. I think the LR dealers stitch people up, find yourself a good independent and your fine
  22. The voices of experience not hearsay
  23. I've had our Disco 3 for 8 years,( 56 plate) its done nearly 100k, its had bushes ONCE!!. Its cost nothing like £1000 per year. The timing belt cost under £300 and that included replacing one of the tensioners. Its always people who don't own them that tell you expensive they are to maintain
  24. I hate it when your doing 85 or 90 in the fast lane, then the cars in front spot a a cop car and all anchor on!!!! I pass police cars at 85 all the time, they are not interested unless your doing over 90, IME.
