  1. Theres a place on Lomeshaye industrial estate, I think its called Delta, but not the electrical place by the same name. They have all sorts of seals. I've taken old seals in and they have matched them.
  2. I'd like to see inside the feed hopper before passing comment on the hours.
  3. If it does, contact ty, he knows these machines inside out I believe, or at least he knows people who do. Do not pressure wash it!!!
  4. Radio control has got to be the way to go on big grinders
  5. I think I would have been cutting that MUCH lower before bringing in the grinder.
  6. skyhuck

    Yew timber

Its cracking fire wood, very hot!!!
  7. We all charged to little to begin with, its all part of the learning curve.
  8. I reckon theres a a fair chance you will
  9. I rarely work 5 days Jonny, usually 3 or 4 per week, but I'm still well over the threshold.
  10. Jonny, £1880 per week is just over £375 per day, which is well within the figures I posted and pretty poor IMO, so I'm not sure of your point
  11. Yeah, yeah, cause you were :001_tt2:
  12. When your turnover hits a little under £80K, you much go VAT reg, obviously the amount you charge dictates whether you hit £80K or not
  13. Its not easy, but experience helps, IMO. You need to value your time and charge accordingly, then hold your nerve, easier said than done. Getting offered more work than you need is the secret, you can put in the price you want and don't need to win them all.
  14. Really????? You don't know Jonny???????
  15. You can charge considerably more, so long as your work is of high standard
  16. Varies greatly, but most seem to be around the £350 to £450 range. Considering many are not VAT reg, they can't charge much more.
  17. If you think that your kidding yourself.
  18. No way I would sub in a man and machine in for £500, I pay £300+VAT for a day and £175+VAT for half day. I would not expect 8 hours with no breaks mind. £500 direct to the customer may be achievable, but seems very high to me, many two man gangs with truck and chipper, are not charging that.
  19. Is there enough at the arbshow to need two days??? Sure the the APF is a big old show that takes some getting round, but I've aways found the arbshow a bit of a let down.
  20. Obviously, but the figures would not be as impressive
  21. Presumable thats the length of the logs being produced to achieve that volume per hour.
  22. Did you pay for the service???
  23. Stick it on ebay and go buy a nice new saw that will leave you with some feeling in your hands.
