  1. Is what people want actually deliverable??
  2. You appear to be missing the point. Its about how long such reductions last and wether in actual fact they promote growth. No one is disputing how good they look when cut, what about one, two, three years down the line???
  3. No reason you cannot remain a sole trader and just add stump grinding to your current services
  4. When you consider the lack of depreciation, Landrovers are pretty good move, even with repair costs.
  5. You can do both thats why I have a Mog
  6. You going soft Jonny????????
  7. Exactly!! Of cause the banks have some responsibility, but many are now claiming they are the only ones at fault, which is nonsense!! Its not helped by the politicians using the bankers as scapegoats to side step their part in the whole sorry mess
  8. God forbid than anyone should be expected to think for themselves or take personal responsibility
  9. I'm sure that more people in Bhutan are happy and more importantly content than most of the west. This however does not mean that there are not a great many of us in the west who are happy and content I have a theory that some people have the capacity for contentment and some don't, I feel I am one of the blessed, I have always been content. When I was married at first (25 years ago) we were proper skint, no phone, no TV, no car, no carpets, no holidays, just enough to live on, my wife made our bread to keep down costs, we cycled, walked or caught the bus, but I was still happy or as I prefer content. We lived through the boom when things were fantastic, money coming like I could never have believed, I was still content, the crash hit, times got tough, but we coped, my contentment continued. Contentment means I'll never be rich, as I lack the drive to make more and more, but not a problem, because I'm content Many people seem to measure their worth against others, they worry about what others have and why they have more than them. They find fault with those who have more and feel cheated that they don't have the same. These people will never be happy. Even if they were cave men living in the stone age they would be unhappy, as the other guys club is bigger:001_rolleyes: and he only got a bigger club because he stole it
  10. The trees too small, IMO
  11. £300-£350 per day man and machine, imo.
  12. Ah yes, the "fat cats" and "bankers" who are the cause of all the evils of the world, I hear they may even be the cause of many cancers!! They and they alone are responsible for the crash!! It has nothing at all to do with the millions of "normal" folk who were enticed by the increased value of their homes, re-morgaged and spent the cash!! There are greedy people in all walks of life.
  13. Not at all, its just some of us don't care
  14. Lee I will never understand why some of you get so upset about what others have???? I concern myself with myself and my family.
  15. If those preaching here about how shocking things are all ran large organisations, employing lots of staff, all on fantastic wages and with brilliant conditions I would be more inclined to listen These people you are slagging off have gone out and put the money where their mouth is, created jobs, made business and succeeded. I feel they deserve all they get I'm just so glad that the majority won't permit jealous under achievers to call the shots.
  16. Good for you!, not giving up, you will look back and laugh in a year or two, we've all been there We all learn far more from our mistakes than we do from our successes
  17. You sound like a very sad and bitter man, its a real shame.
  18. All joking aside, I wonder what percentage of arb trucks are overloaded when they leave the yard in a morning?? Gear and lads can easily add up and the pay load of many trucks is pathetic.
  19. Why is it not fair??? Should the wealthy be charged more for goods and services, just because they have more?? They often use less public services than the less well off, as they often have private health care, privately educate their children, etc. IMO they pay more than their fair share, to expect them to pay the same percentage as those on much lower earnings is ridiculous IMO.
  20. The OP said he may bag it up and put it on their drive, which suggests it's not simply a case of chucking it back over a fence.
  21. Who said it had been bumped over a fence???
  22. Sorry, thought people were talking about the £12 hour rate.
  23. Who wants to be on site for 10 hours???
  24. May be, but what if another guy offers them a few quid?? where would you tip??
