  1. They have not really lost anything, they had been over estimating the value of their assets ridiculously. There stores are not worth the figure they clamed, even the stock in the stores was over estimated by over £500M!!! The new boss has corrected this, thus the huge right down.
  2. You don't HAVE to say "please" or "thank you", its no compulsory to hold doors open for people, you won't get arrested for not standing on a bus or train for the elderly, however decent people do. Life is not about rules and regulations, punishment or reward, IMO, its about deciding what sort of person you wish to be and acting accordingly When the biomass lads were fitting my boiler before Xmas, there was regular tea or coffee, home baked cakes and bacon sandwiches. Hospitality is not mandatory, but I'd sooner be a person who offers it than not
  3. Alex Price put's Sintrans (sp) in mine, it obscenely expensive, about £250-£300 to fill my gearbox, buts its recommended my Merc.
  4. The condensation will be a real problem, IMO.
  5. The scots, thats why they are so cheery.
  6. Not sure the term "many" constitutes a "massive generalisation":001_rolleyes:
  7. :confused1:Did I mention you??????????
  8. Spot on Tom!!!!!!!! But unfortunately many will be more concerned about his £5M than their own £5K, its very sad
  9. Tom on the money as usual!! The problem is many people measure their own worth against what others have, rather than concentrating on what they have. People talk about the gap between the rich and poor being greater than ever before, maybe, BUT the difference is in the past the poor starved, today the poor maybe don't have the latest iPhone.
  10. Normally the Oak and the Ash are among the last to come into leaf, But this year many seem really, really early The Hawthorn are barely out, the Chestnuts are just opening, Sycamore are mostly still bare, I can never recall a year where Ash were out before Sycamore and Chestnut. The old saying about "Ash before Oak and we are in for a soak, Oak before Ash and we are in for a splash" I presume is because these two are generally the last trees to leaf up. If the old saying is true we are in serious trouble I may start building and Ark!!!!!!!!
  11. This is OK, but what about those who currently carry out these tasks?? Someone will lose the work that the unemployed people start doing.
  12. The current lot have improved this to some extent, benefits are reduced and they intend to further reduce them. This has lead to more people taking jobs or starting their own business.
  13. Yes, the hot water rises, so you want the rads all slightly higher than the boiler and as larger pipe as you can afford.
  14. I'm no expert. Yes you need a header tank, if your going for a vented system. You need the feed pipe to always be climbing, ideally be at least 22mm or bigger.
  15. Its perfectly possible to run on gravity, so long as you use large enough pipe.
  16. Depends where the rads are going in relation to the boiler and the size of pipe you use.
  17. Not sure the rest of Europe would agree with you.
  18. To be perfectly honest I would sooner things stay as they are, OK they are not doing that much good, but at least they are doing very little harm. Not sure theres much chance of another lib-con coalitions.
  19. So you think Nick Clegg and the lib-dem's are not paying for his broken promise over tuition fees??
  20. So you think NONE of the parties will get into power???????? Who's gonna run the country???
  21. Its a hell of a lot easier to use words when they will never need to be backed up by actions.
