  1. I've a fair idea who the one is 😬

    Covid-19

I used to be able to ride a unicycle, I'm determined to learn again.
  3. Who are you quoting here? Or is it just more fiction?
  4. I've never even been to Norway. One day hopefully.
  5. Again you are saying things I did not say.
  6. How much actual experience of this industry do you have? These days this place seem to be full of people with very little idea posting as though they are seasoned experts. I notice you skipped over my reference to your previous posts regarding freelancers and insurance..... funny that.
  7. I posted before releasing you had fictionalised my post, please see my edited post.
  8. Thats not what I said, but no. You seem to read things that aren't actually there. But then you post things that aren't actually true, so no real change.
  9. I never mentioned working with one or two ropes, I simply didn't believe your story. I seem to recall you having similar stories regarding freelancers and insurance. I've been climbing for over 25 years, run a limited Co for 21 years, in that time I've had 3 accidents requiring hospitalisation. What you claim simply does not ring true with my personal experience. As for insurance, how many people have personal accident insurance? I know I don't. And my employers and public liability insurance doesn't cover me if I injury myself.
  10. Again, nothing like the tale told of "single employee of limited Co farm"
  11. I guessed as much, work of fiction. The one you listed bares no resembles to the tale you told.
  12. Do you have a link to evidence of the case involving the farmer?
  13. I've never had a problem in the winter, spring and summer is a whole different story, IME.

    Covid-19

I'm getting sick to the back teeth of reading shite like this. Earlier today I was listening to medical staff who are going through hell dealing with this horror, one has since resigned after 19 years as an intensive care nurse, she simply could not cope any longer. One consultant said one of the worst things was people undermining the seriousness of the situation. People who have not been directly affected by this pandemic should count their blessing and keep their moronic tinpot conspiracy theories to themselves, IMHO,
  15. Nope, I only read it today, sorry if its touched a nerve, it was a throwaway post, meant as a joke. I was under the impression this was a joke thread?
  16. You won't be helping with this "none joke, mine was at least funny 🤣
  17. Don't think the AA have much involvement in the APF, it's a forestry show.
  18. I would imagine that's very unlikely and pretty rare.
  19. I'd be thinking Pop more than Willow, but by no means sure.
  20. I've always considered myself a climber, but most customers just call me "the tree man". These days I just refer to myself as "the tree man", it's just easier.
  21. Given the current furlough scheme, seems like a very strange time for bigger firms to be worrying about keeping staff busy. I've certainly not notice any changes locally.
  22. So you would prefer they had not replaced the machine?
  23. Oh come on!! Clearly they are dammed if they do and dammed if they don't. I am no fan of Forst, to me they have ripped off Jensen, copying their machine. But they are replacing the machine, what more could they do???
  24. Yes the "self-employed" myth or "running your own business" does not always go the way you think. In reality no-one employs themselves, you are in a way employed by all your clients/customers and they can be very demanding. And its very easy to find your business is running you, not you running the business. Don't get me wrong, I've been self employed most of my adult life (over 30 years) and don't imagine I'll ever be employed, but it takes some getting right and is by no means a "land of milk and honey"
