  1. This poem (although this is actually the poorest version I've seen, the original is somewhat better) really only reflects the differing difficulties in drying different timber. The timbers that are listed as good are generally easy to dry and tend to stay dry. A good example is Elm, Elm felled green is very difficult to dry, taking years. But DED causes the tree to self season and gravity dry, it then becomes some of the finest firewood there is. Green Ash will burn (poorly in real terms) the fact that this is held up as he gold standard says it all IMO.
  2. How hard is it? Does not particularly look like Elm to me, but I may be wrong. In all honesty my first thought was Alder.
  3. I'm pretty sure Hilary is actually Ken Dodd in drag……………
  4. :001_huh:WTF??????:001_huh: You serious???????
  5. Can't really be any fairer than that No one is perfect, could just have been an error, personally I would give them the benefit of the doubt and see how future loads turn out
  6. If any of my children felt the need for the crutch of religion I would happily support their need, my parents and brother are still "of faith" and I respect their stance But up until now my children seem pretty happy with life defined by facts and science and have not as yet seemed to need any thing of a more mystical nature to plug any god shaped holes
  7. I think the real reason is damage caused by being hit by tipper bodies when reversing, not being hit by trees.
  8. Nonesence, he and his three siblings are free to go their own way without the ridiculous thought that there is some weired all powerful voyeur watching his every move and keeping a tally of his deeds:lol:
  9. My eldest son was fast approaching the age of 3 and I became aware that I was about to begin indoctrinating him with my beliefs, I felt this was a huge thing, he was a blank sheet on which we as a family were about to write. I needed to be sure my reality was the correct on. I bough many books and used the internet, boy oh boy!!! If you look back at the history of Christianity its simply a morph of earlier pagan beliefs, myths and legends. If you get back to the original translation of the bible you can see some of it is a collection of older stories combined. Human feel a need to have purpose and find meaning in life, but its all the construct of man, a nice little story with a happy ending.
  10. You really do talk some nonsense
  11. Having a laugh is fine, but you should never touch other peoples food or property, if you do don't bleat about the consequences, you deserve all you get if you do, IMO. I once came out of the undergrowth with my arm covered in blackberries and my 020 resting on my arm, looked very much like I had stuck the saw in my arm. My groundies face was a picture. It was pretty funny at the time, but I guess you had to be there.
  12. If the muslim terrorists had no faith, they would not kill, hardly pointless IMO The same could be said for all the atrocities carried out in the name of different religions down through history.
  13. What makes you think some of us aren't people who have recovered from the affliction of faith. I once believed 100%, but with much research I realised what an utter crock it is, truth is its own reward
  14. So presumably he does not expect us to, so requires no worship Presumable this God is even more wonderful and magnificent than his creation, the very creation that MUST have a designer, but he has just always been there and needs no designer or creator………….. yeah right
  15. Or maybe God is created in the image of good, rather than the other way around God was a concept created to explain the inexplicable, but we have developed and advanced, science has now filled all the God shaped holes we used to have in our understanding. God is now a concept that allows those who cannot accept the realities of life to kid themselves that its all going to be OK.
  16. :congrats: Wow!!! I never thought I would be giving YOU the clappy hands!!! I guess even a stopped clock is right twice a day
  17. I've bought a few ex-demo saws (and cars) over the years, they have always been with full warranty and been a good saving, I've never had a problem with any of them. If you think about it, the saw will probably been checked very well before it first went out as the dealer wants it to perform well and impress. It is then returned and will be checked again before being sent out. So you will struggle to find a saw thats had more professional attention in its first few hours of use. So a demo saw may actually be better than new.
  18. It will have loaned to different clients, prior to them deciding to buy one or more, councils etc, I would expect.
  19. If it comes with full warranty its a bargain, IMO.
  20. Did you not see the part of the post I highlighted? I even increased the size to assist you
