  3. Ive been out today playing with the 5 meter blaze lanyard i bought at the AA show. I have tried it as i am looking for a replacement side strop for my wire core flipline. Its ok but not very good at taking up slack as you have to use both hands on it. My question is is there a set up i can use with it involving a mini pulley (which i have) so i can tend the slack in it one handed? And can i use this set up on my side D ring on a Kolbri skylotec harness? Any suggesstions and advice would be most welcome Arbs. Regards. C

Had heat stroke in the Kuwait desert when in the army, wearing chemical warfare suit and ressie..not nice.Drink tepid water not iced, lots of it, take salt tablets and take a break if you feel dizzy, not with it and slurred speech (no change their for me then:001_smile:), and headache with dry lips and no1 sign..if you have not peed or have stopped sweating...drink!! heat stroke can creep up on you without you realising it.

  11. Hi Barry, Dont know about the first question..but phenololgy is the study of natural occurances in nature and its times , wether that is the effect off weather paterns eg: climates warming earlier than say 10 years ago ecte and the timings of the bursting of flowers at spring or the migration of birds to warmer climates during the seasons ecte. Its all about times of change in nature and when it happens and it being logged. Hope thats clearer mate.

My boss has got me doing the chipper, clearing brash, snedding and a little felling in low risk areas and when time allows the lead climber lets me do some climbing and cutting. He knows im slow and not that experinced but when were ahead on a job he will leave me a few branches on a tree and says 'get your harness on then and up you go'. he will watch me and guide me. 18. I had to fell some Ulmus glabra last week infected with DED.We retained the stems from the suckers from the elms which were live and felled the dead ones. I read somewhere that the beetle that carries the fungus flies in summer at a certain height from tree to tree and if you prune the live trees to under this designated height the beetles fly over them. Is their any truth in this or can anyone suggest any other managments techniques for DED? Thanks. C
  19. could it be drought damage..water exudates from the bark?
