  3. dropped in after to work to have a look. Was very impressed with the setup.Good safe , clean training enviroment.I did mention to kev (arborcop) that the metal tree does need more epicormic growth for total realisim.i liked the bolting of wood lengths on to the metal trees tips tp [ractice there cuts.Good bit of technology for presenatations too.told me there holding free lectures there once a month so will be going along to those. Good to meet up with some mates and old instructors...enjoyed it...got some bargins from the shop too...cheers jason. Nice to see you Kev.

  6. Go for it.Im 43 started arb trainning at 40 got my BTEC in Arb, cs30,31,38 and 39.Now work for a great company, groundwork and climbing. As long as your fit , like hard work go for it. Start off getting up to speed in trees and as you do it more you will get fitter. I was a squaddie and thought i was fit...then started climbing and was knackerd but you get stronger the more you do it. My boss took me on at my age and i get the job done for him. Good luck.
  7. Thanks for the offer Andy.Just wanted to know really why they are twisted.maybe its to gain a better poistion on the tree/pole in relation to your legs.
  8. Looking at buying some spikes. What is the difference between twisted shanks and straight? Are steel ones harder to sharpen too? Thanks Gals and Guys. Cerne.

  11. i like the idea pepole care about trees, but i find most of them just complain about them, its stopping there sky reception, they cant get a good tv reception...moan...moan. Thats why i talk to them to give them the benifts of having them.
  12. Think my problem is i like to educate pepole about trees and i can gabble about them. we get this too,why are you felling it when were just crown lifting it to 3 meters ecte ecte.
  13. We like residents like that...mmmmm tea...in a mug.
  14. This is for folk out there who do Local authority or housing asscociation work. When a resident asks you why your working on a tree, do you be vague with the awnswer or brief or in depth? The reason i ask is that the more they know, the more they ring the council TO and moan about why such as such is not being done about other trees. My team leader always says be vague with the awnswer. cerne.
  15. Are they going to fell the Tilia pollards on the other side of the hedge too do you think?
